It reminds me of the 10,000 or so crows that roost near BCIT in Vancouver (Douglas Coupland wrote about them in jPod). In the winter months, when I get off work, the sky is literally black with crows. Very spooky and trippy!

The hi-res version from the PR site already looks nice on my desktop.

I tried making it my myspace background with pimp my profile but my vital text info was hard to read and I couldn't change the font colour because I didn't want to disrupt the black and white feel.

I've been observing the massive flocks of birds flying over my house for the past couple of weeks and feeling sort of funny about it. I've been admiring the sight of them and enjoying their passing, flapping, flock sound. Also, just the other day, a friend and I were talking about tattoos and she said she'd like to have a flock of birds in silhouette across her back.

Am I experiencing some sort of psychic phenomenon?

I think I've been remote viewing this album art for weeks now.

Duuuuude, freaky! :huh

Minimalistic - in typical Wilco cover art fashion. The imagery is interesting...wonder if "image of a swirling flock of starlings evading a peregrine falcon" is somehow related to reported theme that Sky Blue Sky is a record of hope?

From the link National Geographic link ...

Competition judges praised "Sky Chase" for its energy and movement as well as its starkness and graphic simplicity.

Seems appropriate. I wonder what (who?) the falcon represents. :lol

Favorite album art is still Being There, this comes in second.

I love the bubblegum pun (intentional or not) of the Summerteeth cover art. And the fact that it manages to look innocent, yet creepy at the same time.
