Matt R.
I love Misunderstood opening Kicking Television and Being There, but I have been to two shows where it was used to close the set, and I actually think I prefer it that way... What do you guys think?

froggie
either way.. i like the experimental versions from late 95 where they'd repeat random verses and stretch it nearly 10 mins plus throw in the "nothings" midway through it and then go back to verses
So Long
I remember the first time I saw Wilco, this song blew me away. And Forget the Flowers, I loved the key change. But anyway, I like this as a set closer, pre-encore.
aricandover
how is that? like this
mpolak21
I prefer hearing it as the opener so then they can play Far Far Away right after it. --Mike
WaronWar
You are correct pervious poster behind me because I love it on Being There when I hear the mayhem of Misunderstood and then Far Far Away comes on swaying away.
lost highway
like this wow, I've never heard it anything like that before......thats a big version.

Beltmann
like this Wow. Thanks! Do we know from which show/date this is taken?
aricandover
Wow. Thanks! Do we know from which show/date this is taken? 7/9/1999 Loreley Festival Loreley, Germany. I recorded the audio from the VCD. there's also a killer version of "Hotel Arizona"
So Long
so is that you singing along? lol Seriously though, wow...how things have changed.
awatt
No question: opener. Thanks for this treat. Will wait for the Hotel Arizona.
mountain bed
Anytime you get one it's great, but I always thought Jeff should save it for the end of the show. Because...well, has there ever been a show where he blew his voice out on that right at the beginning of a show? That would suckee.

aricandover
what's your problem?
tongue-tied
i'm just being a jerk. the energy is there but the music isn't quite as good, the noisy parts aren't half as interesting as they are now, the keyboard gets a little cheezy for me, i think this is testimony to how much stronger musically wilco is today. Jeff sounded great and it was cool to hear it a little more screamy. It'd be cool to hear them push the tempo like that today, and be a little less tidy with the ending. i think my favorite 'misunderstood' ending is with drum fills, i think it's like that on the IATTBYH documentary, the Kicking Television version makes me wonder if the CD is skipping. thanks for posting that. and i like Misunderstood during the encores, not that it really matters. Because...well, has there ever been a show where he blew his voice out on that right at the beginning of a show? That would suckee. of all the 97 shows i've heard, he never blew his voice out by playing it at the start... on the other hand, there weren't as many nothings on those versions.. mp3? 2moro morning
HighFives
isn't there a 13 minute live version too? if any one has that it'd be cool to hear. and thanks froggy be looking forward to that.
