MrRain422
Okay, now he seems to have injured himself and is being yanked, with the no hitter still intact. Not really what I was going for.

Phil Hughes is pulled due to pulled hamstring or groin. Good job, man.

Beltmann
I'd just like to observe that tonight the Brewers improved to 17-9, which is good enough for first place and the best record in baseball.
rwrkb
i'd like to observe that the a's had a quality comeback against the sox tonight. GO A's!
Nobody Girl
I would be lying if I said I thought the A's had a chance in that ninth inning, but I'll definitely take it. If mammary (sorry...memory) serves I believe there was an auction for that dress she was wearing on e-bay. Proceeds went to some charity or something.....seriouslyThis is the guy who won it: http://www.lonestarball.com/story/2006/9/13/214714/

MrRain422
Sheff seems to be heating up. Good thing -- I recognize that it was still early, but he didn't really do a whole lot after he came back from injury last season, and seeing as he's 38 or 39 or something now, I wasn't convinced that he wasn't pretty much done. He still may be, but hopefully his play in the last week will be more indicative of how the rest of the season will be than the previous several.

Lammycat
I think the fact that he's primarily a DH now will ultimately pay off for him for this season. His average is low now, but he can still steal a base and is still scoring runs (getting in base).
rwrkb
Josh Beckett will be 6-0 after tonight's game!!!! if they weren't playing the a's i'd totally be rooting for that.

quarter23cd
"It seems that we find a way to lose every night," Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts said.Thank goodness. I was having trouble digesting the unfamiliar sensation of bubbling optimism a couple weeks ago.
MattZ
From FJM (too good to not post here): Barry (winston salem, NC): What do you think about the recent Giant's run? Do you think that they can compete in the west? Joe Morgan: What I really think is that I'm surprised. I'm surprised because I didn't think their offense was good enough, but that shows the impact Barry has on the lineup. He makes everyone else in the lineup better just by being in the lineup. But I am surprised that they've been able to score like they have. This is truly wonderful. Joe is surprised that the Giants have been able to score like they have. Listen to me very carefully: As of right now, the San Francisco Giants are last in the Major Leagues in runs scored. Dead. Last. 30th out of 30 teams. This, my friends and naysayers, is why we believe Joe Morgan should be fired. The number one analyst in ESPN's stable of broadcasters has just said that he didn't think the Giants offense was good enough to score like they have. In reality, they have scored the fewest runs of any team in the sport. This is absolutely unacceptable.
