And finally, a man whom I think a grand total of zero* of you put in your lists, for which you all need to be officially reprimanded for:

Johnny Cash

:realmad

Also, I find it ironic that the person who started this thread has REM and Phish in his screen name, and didn't list Phish. :dontgetit

Yeah I made the screen name when I was 15 in 1995. My musical taste have changed drastically since then. I am too lazy to change my screen name in the about 100 web places I am registered to it with! :stunned

1995?

In 1995 he made his screenname (not on VC) remphish1. Since then, he's made every one of his internet monikers (emails, messageboard, adult sites) "remphish1", just for consistancy. Even though now he's 27 and merely a shadow of the joyful exhuberant 15 year old who made the name, he still keeps the name.

Thats what I think.

That was tougher than I thought. Had to leave off Dead Meadow, Cat Power, Neko Case, Brian Eno, Nick Drake, Burning Spear, and Bob Marley. Doesn't feel right not having them in the top 20.

Freakin' A. This is tough. Ok here goes:

Jimi Hendrix

The Clash

Wilco

Neil Young

Gillian Welch

Sublime

Sufjan Stevens

Rev. Gary Davis

Ryan Adams/Whiskytown

Stereolab

Bob Dylan

Tripping Daisy

Skip James

Bob Marley

Nick Drake

Grateful Dead

Bruce Springsteen

The Velvet Underground

The Strokes (really)

Iron & Wine

That's with no hip hop, jazz or electronic music represented at all :realmad ... also light on the country which is a damn shame. I want 20 picks for each genre ... need room for John Hartford, Willie Nelson, Norman Blake, The Stanley Brothers, Johnny Cash, etc.
