Jimmy Coulas
I have been listening to All Things Must Pass and he has a song called I Dig Love and parts of it sound very similar to Shake It Off
cryptique
I see where you're getting that. Though I'm sure everyone in Wilco has heard All Things Must Pass, I don't imagine that they made a deliberate attempt to make their song sound similar to George's.
Gobias Industries
Though I'm sure everyone in Wilco has heard All Things Must Pass I would die 10000 deaths if one of them has not heard it. To be honest, it does sound similar in a way, but man, I would be damned proud if someone told me my songs sounded remotely like George Harrison's...
tjr
The beginning of "The Late Greats" always reminded me of George's "Give Me Love"... same key, feel etc...
you ever seen a ghost?
>I don't imagine that they made a deliberate attempt to make their song sound similar to George's. kinda like they didn't make a deliberate attempt at "Hello Sunshine" for "You Are My Face"? j/k. what's that famous case of George having copied another, older song when he did "My Sweet Lord"? -justin

keeprighton2
The beginning of "The Late Greats" always reminded me of George's "Give Me Love"... same key, feel etc... Ahhh, 'Give Me Love, Give Me Peace On Earth' ...... first 7 inch I ever bought, first song I ever truly loved, right down to the Apple on the label. The opening chords and lap steel, (or was it a slide guitar?) melted my then 13 year old heart!

Hey maybe Harrision's estate can sue Wilco and make back some of the money they lost on My Sweet Lord..... LouieB
froggie
the acoustic guitars on Muzzle of bees and Here comes the sun are pretty similar too we might be onto something! (on the other hand, shoving a capo that high up the neck would make any song sound similar)
JerseyMike
All songs have a source and everything you hear will influence you... All Things Must Pass is a great, great record.
Gobias Industries
I'd like to take this oppportunity to say that George Harrison is so f*cking great. I miss him. He is the greatest man ever. If I could ever meet anyone ever from any time in any place and in any universe, it would be him. What a blessed man.
TCP
He is the greatest man ever. If I could ever meet anyone ever from any time in any place and in any universe, it would be him. What a blessed man.I completely agree. I remember the summer I bought "All Things Must Pass". It was a great summer. "Give Me Love" is one of the first songs I was able to play and sing. sgtpepper64
I can hear it sort of, both are great songs though. I've always loved "I Dig Love" a whole lot and I'm glad other people recognize how great it is. I guess I should never underestimate Wilco fan again.
giraffo
Neil Young's Walk On and Wilco's Hate it Here are extremely extremely similar.
Sweet Papa Crimbo
I see where you're getting that. Though I'm sure everyone in Wilco has heard All Things Must Pass, I don't imagine that they made a deliberate attempt to make their song sound similar to George's. You give such a polite response to a stupid post and ream out the nice guy with the links to his songs...
