I think it may be conceivable that man may ultimately fight over water. we all need water to sustain life. if the world's fresh water supply dwindles, as we can see with the drying up of Lake Lanier, that would be catastrophic.

just throwing that out there...

I just quit my job, put all my savings into a fleet of ozarka trucks, and fled the city.

thanks a lot.

Is there like a big list of scientists somewhere that has them all categorized as for or against global warming and tells whether they are paid by Big Oil? Do scientists that study squid semen but happen to agree with the theory of manmade global warming count towards the overwhelming majority? I thought I saw the world in black and white, but you seem to have me beat on that. When scientific journals won't even publish articles that suggest global warming isn't caused by humans, it gives me a little doubt as to what the majority of climate scientists believe.

Can you provide us with examples of said journals? Much of what I have read suggests certain individuals have chosen not to have their work peer reviewed, for fear of being outed. Or, because the information was peer reviewed and found to be inaccurate or outright misleading? Oh, and yes, there is a list, and here

The location of the Earth in the universe actually has very little consequence on our souls.

But it did at one time, but no longer - because it was proven to be false, like most if not all of what is stated in the bible.

quick question...do you believe in faith or any sort or do you make each and every decision based on proven scientific fact?

because it was proven to be false, like most if not all of what is stated in the bible.
how many scientific theories have proven to be the same?

When I was a kid and my parents made me go to church, I used to daydream that all the pews in the church had been removed and me and my pals could play wiffle ball in there (the layout of the church was similar to that of a baseball field). There was even an upperdeck of seating, and I thought it would have been awesome to hit homeruns up there.

Also, when I was a kid I would type 55318008 into a calculator every time I had access to one.

So, basically...

Math/Science - 1

Religion - 1

As an atheist I have zero by way of belief in a higher power. Contrary to common misconception, religion was not and is not required to live a moral life. Our sense of what is right and wrong, is, for the most part, a result of evolutionary psychology

The beauty of the scientific method is that it is, for the most part, free of rigid dogma. When a new discovery is made, the scientific community, for the most part, rallies around it - egos may be bruised, but very little else. Can the same be said for religion?

Now that, sir, is something I could believe in....

Extra, extra, read all about it. A small minority of religious people now and the actions of some religious poeple 1500 years ago has a direct relationship to what most religious people believe now!!!I mean, I don't believe in a sky god (I believe that there's probably something there, but that it doesn't really make a difference in our mortal lives, for full disclosure), but man with how big of an asshole you are, I'm thinking about devoting my life to the church just to spite you.

Now you can go back to your TDW bashing.
Huh?

Thanks bob, coming from you, I’ll take that as a compliment.

Now, if I was to respond with equal derision, you would cry foul, and we can’t have that, now can we?

Extra extra - read all about it - the majority of Christians think gays are not entitled to the same benefits as straight folk and that they will spend an eternity in hell as a result based on what they read in some book that also claims the universe was created in a week, tree dwelling snakes can talk and sell apples and that two of everything on the planet once fit on a boat, quite comfortably I might add.....

lolz, i am teh chrizchan so dat totali works.

And you must have the world's largest paint brush with how wide your strokes are man. Have you met any real religious people? The vast majority of them aren't crazies. They just have their religion as one piece of a very large puzzle that is their life. My best friend is extremely religious (like, he's the head of the young episcopalian movement) and he's never once looked down on me for being an atheist. But stereotypes are fun.

And yet, unfortunately, many of the more, shall we say, crazy ones have the presidents ear
