napoleon
first off, for the fact that as of today i'm finally over the killer pneumonia i've had for the past week and a half. the fact that this year i've really been able to break from the mold of being a teenager, and i've really defined who i am, and what i care about the most and my priorities. the fact that i finally got my first job, which also happens to be my dream job. (working at a movie theater) the fact i've finally gotten the motivation to work towards my real dream job, being a filmmaker (which is more of just a fun hobby), or doing anything inside the film industry. just as a way to give back to all the film industry has given me. the fact that turner classic movies still shows movies uncut! the fact i have only 6 months left until i'm finally out of hell. (high school) and the fact that i'm surrounded by loving, caring people. and that someone is always a phone call away.
Guest Speed Racer
I've had an incredibly rough six months, and I am daily astounded at what amazing friends I have. I now feel better than I have in years, and now, like little Kevin McAllister, I'm not afraid anymore! (sorry, I still love Home Alone ). I'm thankful that I enjoy my job and my co-workers (and especially thankful that we celebrate Thanksgiving with a gigantic Indian food feast every year). And, of course, for the roof over my head, the food on my table, and the fact that I am able to pay for it all myself. I'll also shoot in a little wishful thinking and say that I'm thankful my flight tomorrow goes smoothly.
yermom
first off, for the fact that as of today i'm finally over the killer pneumonia i've had for the past week and a half. That's great! the fact that i finally got my first job, which also happens to be my dream job. (working at a movie theater)If your theater isn't all digital yet and you still have monster reels of film all over upstairs, embrace it while you can because the digital film hard drives and things just don't have their charisma. poppydawn
I'd like to give thanks for the warm reception I received from the folks at VC, as I started up here just this year. Word. I don't think I've ever felt so welcome, so quickly on a message board. And since there was a request for pet pics, I'm thankful that my darling Chloe turned ten this year and still acts like a puppy: I'm also glad that whatever higher being granted me the patience to tolerate and, yes, even love, my stupid little Murphy-dog for another year:(For the record, we don't beat her at all, no matter how strong the urge. Murphy's a special girl, a poster dog for the horror that is puppy mill breeding. Truth is, trying as she may be, we couldn't ask for a sweeter, more loving dog. But good lord, she's dumb.) I'm also thankful that my cat, Romi, still fits into her favorite chair. We might not be so lucky next year: I'm most thankful for this:Being a part of this wonderful, loving family makes my life worthwhile.

Edie
I have a lot to be thankful for. Jake is a good place to start. I loved when he dressed as Buzz Lightyear, but this is somehow just as endearing Meant to post for Halloween; better late than never Here he is, sans mask, with my husband. He is laughing because if you look carefully, he's giving Scott bunny ears And finally... I am very thankful for Scott We've been through quite a bit in the last few years, but we seem to muddle through and we're hanging in there.
Clouds of Fluff
I love this thread. Thanks so much for sharing the photies, all! Such beautiful kiddos, pets, and peeps! I also have much to be thankful for. First and foremost, "my guys": Aidan (as Anakin Skywalker this Halloween, the scratch is fake ): Aidan and Adam: I've been really blessed this year to have had several roadtrips to see some of my favorite artists in new-to-me places, with some amazing internet friends. I'm grateful for my fam and friends (and our fuzzy babies). I'm thankful for their health and well-being. I'm thankful for the Flint Hills and whatever powers that be that let us continue to make a living here and survive. I'm so thankful for the music too. Happy Thanksgiving, VCers! I hope each and everyone of you has a chance to be among those things you are most thankful for, and that bring you the most happiness.

andshewas
i haven't had the easiest time with things in the past couple of weeks [or the entire year, really], but this topic has made me think about who i have and where i am right now. i could not be more thankful that my parents are still "there" for me. i've put them through a lot since i went away for school, and after an especially difficult summer, i'm especially glad that i have my home to come back to when i need to get away from everyone else. as hard as growing up was, i am so ashamed to have said that i wouldn't be visiting my family.[kids, you will always need your family. don't make yourself believe anything but that.] libby and sarah are the two best friends i've ever had. i'm so glad that libby made it through her dad's death and car crash [shortly afterward]...and sarah has done so much for me in just being a friend. giving rides, taking me out, listening, keeping me sane in my crazy life. i don't know what i would do without them! as much as i hate it, i'm thankful for my job. i'm still broke [and have been since last october], but god knows how broke and in debt i would be if potawatomi casino hadn't come through for me. hopefully i'll be able to come up with some money for school by the time january comes around... i'm thankful that i have my kittycat, lucy, talking at me when nobody else feels like sticking around. her giant hairballs and intermittent puking are a big hassle, but she is such a sweetheart and totally worth having around. i hope i can get her to the vet soon.she's a talker. so far she only says no, but i'd like to teach her to talk. happy thanksgiving! skyflynn
I have more to be grateful for than I could possibly say but I'll start by saying how much I love how this thread lets me peek into some of your wonderful lives filled with people I wish I could meet. Since I can't even begin to scratch the surface of all I'm grateful for, I'll simply say thank you, VC, for being so understanding of my wildly fluctuating extroversion/reclusivity. It has cost me some friendships in life but you always seem to understand and never demand an explanation. You folks are the greatest.
