cryptique
I never eat this stuff. what's the least healthy thing on any of these menus? I'm going for it today. You can't go wrong with the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese at McDonald's, super-sized value meal, with a large milkshake.

And to think that I previously regarded the Double Quarter Pounder w/Cheese as the ultimate in artery-clogging disgustitude. It's strictly amateur-level.
yermom
My favorite is Dairy Queen, followed by Wendy's. When times are hard, Wendy's chili is a staple food.At Dairy Queen, you can get a burger, onion rings, a lemonade, and an ice cream in a kid's meal all for something like $3.50. I regard it as way awesome that they give you ice cream in place of a toy prize and onion rings subbing for fries always floats my boat.
andshewas
it seems that there is a jimmy john's within walking distance of every house in milwaukee [my current house and last apartment are no exception].jimmy john's is great--i like their bread, and the meats are much better than subway's and quizno's--but subway's tuna will always have a place in my heart. the only time i was ever to white castle i was a vegetarian, and felt safe having only the onion rings, which were shit...i can't imagine how awful the sliders are. *_* i've gotten gut-rot every time i've eaten at arby's. their reuben sandwiches are god-awful, and the mozzarella sticks are always half-frozen when they're served. ick. i love mcdonald's breakfast and the chicken selects, but i won't touch a worm-filler cheeseburger. i'll make a delicious ground chuck burger myself. taco bell kicks ass anytime. definitely my favorite...especially when it's a pizza hut/taco bell combo. [guess it's time to drive to sheboygan...i'm craving!]
LouieB
My veggie friends order Big Macs minus the meat. They're charged full price too! What's the point?? Doesn't McDonalds now have extensive menus that include salads? I have no idea, since I don't step foot in them unless I have to use the bathroom only.... .....usually you can get away with that.... markosis
I avoid fast food like the plague. However, when I was on tour with my brother's band in June '06, the Taco Bell hit the spot at 2:00 in the morning in god-forsaken Quincy, Illinois. I had $5 left for the day, with which I wisely purchased 5 soft tacos, which inspired a little economic envy from the other van passengers who had to go all extravagant with their burritos and nachos. Moral: at 2 AM in Quincy, Illinois, Taco Bell kicks ass. jimmy john's is great I must concur, after that same midwest tour, I was won over by the quality of a $3 sandwich from jimmy john's. nalafej
Has anyone else tried the Wendy's breakfast? It is aweful! The put eggs on a room temperature bun and throw and fake kraft single on top. It is a really bad combination. Give me McDonald's breakfast any day. I've done the Krystal thing in New Orleans I believe. I would say it is right on par with White Castle.

SarahC
Krystals was born right here in Chattanooga, so we eat there once every few months of so. It's ok, but I always get the little chicken ones, not the burgers... This thread makes me want to go to Wendy's...

cryptique
jimmy john's is great--i like their breadTheir bread used to be awful, but yeah, it's pretty good now. god-forsaken Quincy, IllinoisI believe I've used exactly the same words to describe that town. Has anyone else tried the Wendy's breakfast? It is aweful! They don't serve breakfast around these parts, though some Wendy's are combined with Tim Hortons, and Timbits are the true breakfast of champions.

benjamin
We just got our first Del Tacos scattered about... WTF is the fuss about there, they are about as nasty as can be. Take it back! Take back what you said right now! I adore Del Taco. It's easily my fave, but oh how I miss Chicken Rangs from White Castle
