suites
I remember the days here at Via Chicago when I would always post this and it did pay off becasue they did come to South Florida once upon a time. Back in the days when Tweedygirl would post like 500 times a day. I would like to personally invite Wilco to play in South Florida (we have many nice venues) and my wife has offered to cook a nice Italian meal with homemade meatballs. Back in the days when Tweedygirl would post like 500 times a day. I would like to personally invite Wilco to play in South Florida (we have many nice venues) and my wife has offered to cook a nice Italian meal with homemade meatballs. They can stay at my house. Slumber party! But yeah, they haven't been here since 06, and they haven't played a non-festival show here since 05. Come on, guys. Get down here. Maybe I scared Jeff away last year when I told him to come to Florida more at the LRS...
fkinbs
I hear you have nice beaches.
Scott Gyrrr
This thread started me thinking, what kind of album would Wilco come up with if they all moved to Florida (all living in the same house of course) and wrote a record there? Hmm...which genre? I pick a combo of Miami Bass Boy Band and Jook. Or not.
kmerrill80
I had the pleasure to meet John after the last night of the Riviera shows at the Green Mill. We got to talking, he asked where I was from. Once I said FL, he commented on how cold i must have been (normal reaction when you tell anyone you live in Florida) and then he said he would really love some warm weather. Then he paused and made a comment on how they have not been to Florida in such a long time. I tried to stress the point that we would love for them to come down and that they should have made it a stop on the spring tour before it gets too hot. At least he knows that Wilco fans still exist down here

Music From Big Mouse?Summer dentures?Sky Gray Sky?Manischevitzville? The possibilities are mind boggling.
WaronWar
I hear most bands generally lose money when they play in more of the central/southern area of Florida, but then again, Wilco is playing in MT in the next leg of the tour.
bobbob1313
Yeah you can't talk about losing money then play Alaska.
W(TF)
Alaska's got beaches too?
remphish1
Alaska probably has more coastline than Florida!
Mr. Heartbreak
I hear most bands generally lose money when they play in more of the central/southern area of Florida...Source?I've seen them in FL a bunch of times, and there was always a good-sized crowd. I agree, all of the Florida Shows I have seen have been well represented, either sell outs or close to sell outs.
Three dollars and 63 cents
They played Tallahassee a few months after I moved back to the northeast--a day after my birthday, no less! That must've been five years ago by now, though.

bobbob1313
I mean, I don't have too much love for the state, but come on. I would say something bad about Iowa, except that I happen to know numerous people from there who don't suck. Theshua is not one of them.

So, it's like schtick at this point, right? I mean, you've gotta be dialing it in. You are better than this. You've become the Gallagher of Viachicago.

bobbob1313
want to be my watermelon? This is kind of like when Willie Mays was with the Mets. You know it's Willie Mays, but it's so sad and pathetic that you almost hope it's someone else.
