sweetheart-mine
I am not making that up. And in all fairness to Al, here is his statement from a 2004 NYT story: On the theory that Leiter's disappointment with Kazmir's maturity influenced the Mets to unload their top pitching prospect, he said: "He put Eminem on in the clubhouse and I said, 'Hey, what are you doing?' And that's the reason we traded him? That is sad. I didn't even know the kid."wow, well this kazmir-leaving-mets story sure went from amusing to tragic in a hurry. I'd be happy to have him in the AL. As a Red Sox. same here. it's been a several-year wish.
mfwahl
It is also just a matter of time before Kazmir gets dealt away, unless the DEVILrays are changing their MO as well as their name and deity affiliation. He signed this year through 2011 with option for 2012. I was kind of hoping they didn't sign him at the time but he's been a lot better recently. I'm surprised he's going to the All-Star game. Shields is the better pitcher on that team. sweetheart-mine
that was a magnificent rsox/twins 1-0 game tonight. beautiful job by dice-k! cryptique
I got the result I wanted: Baker pitches seven scoreless innings (he's on my fantasy team), but the Twins lose ground to the White Sox.
Beltmann
Anniversary is tomorrow--14 years!--and Stacy suggested we celebrate by heading down to Miller Park to witness Sabathia's Brewers debut. I love my wife. Just finished printing our tickets.

bobbob1313
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng0Rwo0x4mg Awesome play by Alfredo Amezaga. And with Josh Johnson coming back and our top prospect Chris Volstad joining the rotation, our pitching all of a sudden looks a lot more impressive. Plus Nolasco has been one of the best pitchers in baseball for about a month.

I mean, I don't have sound, so maybe I miss something, but it looks like the guy at 2nd is called out. Phantom tags at 2nd are normal.
MattZ
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs have acquired pitcher Rich Harden from the Oakland Athletics in a six-player trade, a day after the rival Milwaukee Brewers landed CC Sabathia. The Cubs will receive the right-handed Harden and righty Chad Gaudin for pitcher Sean Gallagher, outfielders Matt Murton and Eric Patterson, and minor leaguer John Donaldson. I'm seeing the Cubs at Wrigley on Saturday and Sean Marshall is scheduled to start. I wonder if Harden could get that start instead. I would pretty psyched about that.
