cryptique
The story said heart failure, but we all know he died of Bo Diddley-itis. RIP, Ellas. This, combined with the recent Eugene Chadbourne thread, makes me remember the Chadbourne song "Bo Diddley is a Communist." Meant to be funny, but an awesome tribute to the man and the legend. uncool2pillow
Actually shook the man's hand about 12 years ago after a show in the Twin Cities. Loved his rectangle guitar. Does anyone else have a beat named after him?

Twisted Acres
I immediately thought of The Strangeloves/Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy" as a song whose lifeblood was that BEAT.

dannygutters
Bo hasn't minded dying at least since he was 22. I like the Townes Van Zandy 'who do you love'.
EL the Famous
I immediately thought of The Strangeloves/Bow Wow Wow's "I Want Candy" as a song whose lifeblood was that BEAT. No doubt. RIP, Bo...not only a great performer, but one of the great 'charachters' in rock'n'roll.
Gobias Industries
Rest in peace, Mr. Bo Diddley...you were really one of the greats. You'll be missed dearly.
mpolak21
Sad to see this news. Diddley was wonderful, RIP, sir. --Mike
LouieB
Wow, another musician bites the dust. Sad, really sad. Bo was of the generation who got taken by the music industry, when he was broke and sold the rights to his songs. That may be the saddest part of all. He never got to enjoy the fruits of his legacy. mountain bed
In their heyday (before Cippolina left) Quicksilver's take on "Who Do You Love" was one of their best jamming tunes. Still one of the great live LPs ever ("Happy Trails"). Thanks, Bo. Keep the groove goin' up there.
