PigSooie
So, I was horsefucked on my square board. I had the 0-0. I could have had 2 quarters, but lucky me got nothing. Woot!

bobbob1313
At least two of the three personal fouls against AZ on that one drive were questionable at best, IMO (it is fucking football after all , let them hit each other). And the Fitzgerald TD catch hit the ground (blame Tomlin for not challenging that though). Also, the safety and a myriad of other plays were decided not by plays on the field, but by calls by the refs. not necessarily wrong calls, but I have hard time agreeing with those that say it was a great game when so much of it -- before the final two minutes -- was decided by referee calls. The safety was the right call. A center tackling a DT is holding,no matter if it's preseason or the Super Bowl or on the 40 or in the end zone.
embiggen
You think? I was disappointed, though not terribly. I'm pretty sure he cut a verse or two out of "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out," which sucks, but is understandable due to time constraints ... and I didn't think his voice sounded very good -- at least from "Born To Run" on. Perhaps the crotch collision knocked it out of him. He seemed winded after that. He wasn't bad ... but I was hoping he'd be in top form, and I didn't think he was. what do you expect from someone who is nearly 60?

embiggen
My poor innocent mother had to see some other man's private parts besides her husbands. She's mortified. has anybody called the police yet? Sounds horrible..........Is it posted to YouTube yet? Yeah, well they interrupted my porn movie with 30 seconds of super bowl action. Nothing quite so disgusting as full-frontal football. Yeech. My mother-in-law thought the woman was going to pull a bottle of Pepsi out of his pants. No, I'm not kidding. A center tackling a DT is holding,no matter if it's preseason or the Super Bowl or on the 40 or in the end zone.I said the calls weren't wrong per se, just when you have crucial scores and things happen as a direct result of calls by the official and NOT the play on the field, it tends to be a bit anti-climactic to me. However, apparently I'm alone in that as everyone seems to be calling this one of the best SBs ever. I thought it was good and entertaining, just not among the best ever and my reasons are that too many of game changing moments came with the refs mic on.
Sweet Papa Crimbo
Why do some people think that a sports team from their town winning a championship gives them carte blanche to act like Visigoths. Almost makes one glad their town has not won a championship in 14 years... PITTSBURGH

John Smith
The safety was the right call. A center tackling a DT is holding,no matter if it's preseason or the Super Bowl or on the 40 or in the end zone. The call was spot on, and actually I was wondering if they had not got (sans penalty situation) the first down if Pit would have taken the safety to get a better position to kick from since Arizona needed the TD no matter what. A punt under pressure from the back of the endzone can lead to so many bad things. A punt from the 20 with no rush gets them 20 extra yards and a little more field to work with. Fiztgerald eliminated that 20 yard cushion pretty quickly though.
Moe_Syzlak
That was a direct result of the play on the field, though. I don't know how more direct that could be.I guess I'm not explaining myself well, but when the big plays of the game (not just the safety) happen when the ref makes the call not during the action (and yes I know that the calls are a result of the action), it is anti-climactic. Sort of like watching a free throw contest decide a basketball game. I don't want to see big drives happen as result of multiple 15 yard personal fouls, I want to see multiple big plays. I am not blaming the officials for calling a bad game; I am saying it was less entertaining to me than it was to many people because it was a penalty -filled game. bobbob1313
I think there were some bad penalties, but I can't see myself complaining if they were making the right calls.
Moe_Syzlak
I think there were some bad penalties, but I can't see myself complaining if they were making the right calls.Again, not complaining about the calls, just saying it wasn't as great of a SB to me due to the volume of penalties and how they affected the flow of the game. But it is no big deal; it was a great game. I was just surprised that so many are ranking it right up there with last year's game.
MattZ
I understand what you are getting at Moe. Penalties break up the flow of the game, and a long drive that is the result of pass interference calls or personal fouls is boring. Still, I blame the players for that, not the refs (assuming that the refs are making the right calls). So yes, regardless of whether they are the right calls, they take away from the flow and excitement of the game.
bobbob1313
I get it. I don't think this one ranks up there with last year, all things considered.
Analogman
Why do some people think that a sports team from their town winning a championship gives them carte blanche to act like Visigoths. I saw some of that on the news last night. I see burned furniture almost everyday when I walk into town now - and the season is over. I don't think I have watched that much of a football game since the early 1980s.
solace
By outrage, I mean stuff like this. This writer makes it all about her, of course, and not so much about Springsteen. She's just pissed off that she hasn't been able to control her idol's career trajectory. Boo fuckin' hoo. that article pissed me off so much. i've known fans like her for various different bands, it's just absurd. dude doesn't owe her shit. i thought Bruce was awesome. sure he was cheesetastic, but he kind of always has been. and yeah, he definitely cut 10th Ave and BTR short.
