jcroach
I'm accepting this cover as a friendly reminder not to take the music too seriously. I agree. I hope the Nudie Suit pictures make it onto the back or inside!
MattZ
Keep the music in you through the tough times. It will help to sustain you. Like SpeedRacer said. Love it.
Jrh79
I also really love that the picture seems like it may have been taken in Europe, but that's definitely Milwaukee. I love my hometown.
Wendy
I held that birthday cake for the fanshoot @ Pabst Theater. Pretty neat that it made the cover. That is pretty neat! Here's some other info on the photoshoot buried inside that other really really long thread. * posts where Jim first talked about the photo shoot in Milwaukee:http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...t&p=1322616 * some photos are shared here: http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?sho...t&p=1321480

Jrh79
That is pretty neat! I will say that the cake was EXTREMELY HEAVY. Autumn's staff had to give me a "cake break" every 10 minutes or so when I wasn't being shot, just so I could get the feeling back in my arms. I wonder if it was even real, or just an anvil covered in orange frosting.

HungryHippo
holy crap! that seriously might be the greatest album cover of all time! its very cool to say the least! the first thing i thought of when i looked at it was Neil Young's On the Beach cover.

uwmryan
somebody just posted a comment on my blog giving the album art "two humps up" LOL
Guest Speed Racer
You know, I just love that they're dishing out the self-depricating humor on this one. I'll take goofy light-hearted art any day over "god I'm so happy" light-hearted art (naturally, says the parodist). I really hope the pre-order comes with a Wilco party hat, camel-hump S&P shakers or some equally irreverent delicacy.
Conrad
WTF? Awesome? It's arty. It's silly. What's not to love about it?
Sir Stewart
Best Wilco album cover by a longshot.
rhino4evr
It's arty. It's silly. What's not to love about it? i don't know, I guess it will have to sink in. I like the idea about it being one of the bad 70s album covers. I understand it's intentionally bad, but im sure more then a few people wont get the joke. Im just glad it doesn't say Wilco (The Album) on it.I like the Font..
bigshoulders
It sort of harkens back to those irreverent album covers of the 60s and 70s .You meant irrelevant, right?
W(TF)
You know, I just love that they're dishing out the self-depricating humor on this one. I'll take goofy light-hearted art any day over "god I'm so happy" light-hearted art (naturally, says the parodist). Or some equally disturbing self-important "serious" thing full of metaphors or neurotic/delusional angst. I like it fine, and it fits in to the catalog...where we've seen cats, radios, buildings, birds...and nothing too heady or heavy.
rhino4evr
Best Wilco album cover by a longshot. my heart still belongs to those sad, scary, and mysterious marina city towers on the cover of YHF.
Central Scrutinizer
its very cool to say the least! the first thing i thought of when i looked at it was Neil Young's On the Beach cover. That was my first thought too ... no idea why, other than the absurdity.

I understand it's intentionally bad, but im sure more then a few people wont get the joke. Im just glad it doesn't say Wilco (The Album) on it.I like the Font.. I don't think it's bad in any manner, intentionally or not. They are obviously having more fun with any of the other albums as one, Wilco (The Song) and two, Wilco (The Album). Taking themselves seriously isn't in the books on this one. I wanna see the rest of the art but AGIB is my favorite, especially the vinyl with the nest.
Analogman
The Wilco album cover is sure different from Son Volt's old-school semi-country look for their new album. My favorite Wilco album cover/album art has always been Being There, which is still my favorite Wilco album.
