Synthesizer Patel
my view on this cover is going to depend on how good the music is. if it all sounds like wilco (the song) did when i heard it, then my view will be that it's a shit cover trying to be too funny and failing. if the songs are good then i'll think it's like my feelings for a lot of those 60s and 70s 'weird covers' - in that they're good, because they don't take themselves seriously, and that's a good thing because the music is seriously good! Did you not like Wilco (The Song)? That's my 'safety song' for this album, given that I didn't care too much for the first few live cuts I heard. Granted, the recordings were pretty poo-y, so I decided to hold off until the album. Either way, if the rest of the album sounds like W(TS), I'll be as happy as a camel with a hat on next to a party cake.

Considering that one of the songs is about a dude who just killed his girlfriend, I don't think you have to worry about all of the songs being silly like Wilco (The song)
jff
They did? I thought that's what Jeff Tweedy said. Maybe not. Who cares, just dig the Moonmadness.

intodeep
The album cover could be a steaming pile of shit and i could care less as long as the music does not sound like a steaming pile of shit
Winston Legthigh
The album cover could be a steaming pile of shit and i could care less as long as the music does not sound like a steaming pile of shit the steaming pile of shit doesn't make a sound. It's usually the ACT of shitting that has audio.

Guest Alan
This thread is hilarious. From the people trying to analyze the cover and give it some great deep meaning to the people going nuts on a guy because he doesn't like it. Funny stuff.

jff
Clearly, this album cover is a commentary on the impending obsolescence of the album cover. And that camel looks a lot like Jay Bennett.
tangara
The cover is fantastic! I love it because it reminds me of those awesome Milwaukee shows. Good times!
Guest Speed Racer
it's not silly though, it's just a bad joke. silly things are funny. I don't think of the song as silly all that much, though. I certainly think of it as fun, with a humorously-intended punchline, but I think the rest of the content is pretty serious. "Shit sucks sometimes, but Wilco will love you, baby!" Jeff could just say, "na-na-na" for three minutes, but the bad-ass guitar chug is what I like about the tune.

rockinrob
I now know what we are going to refer to this album as. The Camel album. and I love it for that!!!
Wailin
So I go to Milwaukee for two days a few months ago, never been there before. Someone points me to Mader's, and I eat dinner there twice. And here it shows up on Wilco cover. Coincidence? I think not.
