kidsmoke
Damn, you guys are amazing! So they went in to do the angiogram & wound up looking around and deciding it was unnecessary (Isn't the angioplasty supposed to determine this?) and have opted to handle Dad's condition with a medication instead. I just talked to him & he seemed exhausted but otherwise just fine. What a relief!!! Thank you so much for sending such powerful vibes that the entire procedure became unnecessary. Now them's some potent vibes!

jff
Hey All, My dad's in the hospital after a scary bit on Sunday when he thought he might be having a heart attack. The good news is, he didn't, but due to the results of his heart stress test done just last Thursday, his docs have him scheduled for an angiogram today, at 1 p.m. He's had two before, and came through both just fine, but he's 86 and of course I worry! If anyone has some spare vibes, or a moment or two to send up a prayer, I'd sure appreciate it. Damn, best of luck to your dad (edit, I didn't read the thread before writing this, but now I see that things worked out well). My family is likely to find ourselves in a similar situation one of these days. My dad has a big belly and gets virtually no exercise, and he likes hamburgers and salt, and he's stubborn as hell so he's pretty high risk for heart trouble.

kidsmoke
Thank you, all! It's been a complicated few days...when my stepmom was down at the hospital on the day of my dad's angiogram, her replaced hip was giving her so much pain that she wound up admitted too! But she is also home now.
wilcogirl
Hey Donna! I haven't been here in so long, I may have faded from your memory. But I just happened to see this thread and wanted to say I'm glad everything is ok with your dad. I'll send vibes anyway to add to the mix! (((((Get Better Dadsmoke!))))) Edit: just saw your post above now too, hope she's feeling better as well!

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm overdue for a brief lull in the action, before I gear up for both my boys graduating in the same week....Brennan from high school on the 9th, and Tom from UC Riverside on the 13th. We're all hoping the folks will feel well enough to attend the graduations, but right now I'm satisfied just to have them home from the hospital!

Nice to see you too, it has been awhile, but it's nice to come back and see familiar faces! Congrats on the graduations, wow! I hope your folks are feeling better for it, too. I promise to stop in more, a lot has been going on but it's good to be back. Re my real-life name... PM on it's way to remind you! Edit: or not until I figure out what's different about PM's since I've last been here, it appears I don't have the capabilities. I shall sleuth around to find out why!
