Do You Listen To "Wilco?"

  1. 1. How Often Do You Listen to the Band "Wilco?"

    • Hourly. I'm obsessed and want to show the world
    • Daily. I need them in my life. If they weren't in my life daily I would likely cry.
    • 1-3 times/week. If they pop up on an iPod/radio/t.v. car commercial
    • Every couple of months. A brief absence and I'm back inside them like an old lover.
    • Rarely. What's the point. The last few albums are tepid. If I do listen to them, it's from the golden age of '99-'04.
    • Never. I dislike them ever since that album with the camel on it came out.

Actually, I find that I am not listening to music much these days. Even though I continue to buy stuff.

WTF is wrong with me?

I listened to the catalog twice this summer when I first got into Wilco, listened to the non-album tracks and a few lives shows I picked up, and now I've incorporated them I to my general playlist. So, shuffle dictates when I listen to them.

I listen mostly to the live stuff too. I hope some of Jeff's upcoming solo shows get the Roadcase treatment.

Yes, or another Sunken Treasure-like DVD. I have a feeling something special is in the works for the LA shows. It's so unusual to play a 4-night run at the same tiny theatre. There must be something up his sleeve!

Now there's a good song.

I don't know that a four night run indicates anything. Sunken Treasure was a tour film, and so was Ashes of American Flags. And does Wilco/Jeff Tweedy need another concert documentary? That, and I can't imagine that shacking up in a tour bus over 40 is much fun.

Maybe not a documentary (although I'm eagerly awaiting the Solid Sound film), but I'll always welcome new concert footage - especially Jeff solo shows. A full concert would be great.

I am the same way. I buy lots of older records, much fewer newer records than I used to, and don't seem to find the time. My heirs can have a yard sale I guess.
