tinnitus photography
^^*note to self* I'm definitely a budget beer buyer - lately it's all been 12ers of Goose Island from Binny's @ $11. $15 per 12er is my ceiling.pretty much all the DDH or DIPAs from Trillium are $20 a 4 pk. at least they are 16 oz cans, but yeah... pricey. Winston Legthigh
once you've tasted them.... you'll know.I think I've burnt my tongue on too many hot pizzas and impatient sips of coffee to know... Goddamn budgets... Now I'm trying to get a $175 3-day pass to Pitchfork through the budget committee. Not looking good. It's up against a $160 family season pass to the public pool. uncool2pillow
Bell's is typically $9.99 or $10.99/six here in Des Moines. Ballast Point, on the other hand, $14.99-$16.99. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Winston Legthigh
Dammit. Summit was already hard to find in Illinois. Now I'm guaranteed not to find it at all... http://www.startribune.com/summit-brewing-stops-distribution-in-six-states/423902093/

knotgreen
A brewery out of Burlington, VT, called Foam Brewers is producing some top-notch hoppy beers. In an area that's basically producing some of, if not THE best beer in the country, it's impressive that a newcomer like Foam has gained traction so quickly. I appreciate their beer names too, which include: Pavement, Built to Spill, Son Volt, Joy Division, etc. Maybe one day they'll make a Wilco! calvino
Seeing the Beer Advocate site, reminded me of recent news regarding Rate Beer. On Friday, another one of those huge stories arrive, as Good Beer Hunting broke a significant acquisition —AB-InBev, via its “global disruptive growth group” ZX Ventures, had acquired an unknown “minority stake” of one of the web’s two largest and most popular beer-rating sites, RateBeer (the other being Beer Advocate). ZX Ventures is the same group that AB-InBev used to buy out popular homebrewing supplier Northern Brewer last year, and it’s also the backer for faux-craft blog October. https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2017/06/craft-breweries-want-their-beers-off-ratebeer-afte.html

calvino
Great news for one of my local brewers. Great place and great people. Prior to opening their establishment, they were (and still are) members of a home brew club (www.bossbeer.org) that I hang with. Great news for them, too. http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/daily-southtown/opinion/ct-sta-slowik-hailstorm-medal-st-1013-20171012-story.html Tinley Park's Hailstorm Brewing Co. this week brought home the top award in the biggest category at the nation's largest craft beer festival. It's like winning the Best Picture Oscar at the Academy Awards, the final honor announced late Saturday at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colo. This year, brewers at the 35-year-old festival competed for 293 medals in 98 categories.Wednesday afternoon at Hailstorm's taproom, 8060 186th St., some patrons celebrated the recognition and representatives of other breweries stopped by to offer congratulations and to sample the award-winning brew.
