Lammycat
BOS v Cubs has been my hunch for awhile. I'd feel a little bad having BOS beat CHI after BOS has had a little more success than CHI of late. I'd still cherish another WS though, especially after last season's suck. calvino
I asked all my in-laws this past weekend, who are all St. Louis Cardinal fans, if they are going to root for the Cubs in the playoffs -- they all said no. I would think that they would want them to win it all, so we all don't have to keep talking about them not winning the Series since 1908. As a White Sox fan, I am tired of hearing about it. I'll be for rooting for the Cubs. Just have to figure out how I going to watch the games via Roku.

It's always fun to root for the Cubs, but I have to root against them this October. What's up with the NLDS not being on TBS or FOX or TNT or whatever? Only on "FS1/MLBN" and I'm pretty sure I don't have FS1.

Dur, because it wasn't a closing situation! Showalter will have a long time to dwell on it.

Winston Legthigh
Dude is practicing outdated management. By the same token, why keep Ubalado in during a "reliever's" role? Bad move/non-move, Buck. Well it's certainly not creative, which you think the desperate situation would have demanded. Some managers just stick with their system: This guy pitches the 7th, this guy pitches the 8th, and this guy closes. Some managers will take a reliever out because they don't want them to pitch for more than 3 outs. Dumb.

calvino
Shit, forgot it was an even year Yeah -- I was rooting for the Giants last night, but kept thinking about the whole even year stuff. Bumgarner is just amazing to watch -- nice to see a former White Sox player (Connor Gillaspie) come through in the clutch.
KevinG
So other than the Washington /Dodgers series (which was ppd) it all stands at 2 games to none. Just seems weird.
KevinG
Hell of a win by the Blue Jays last night. THey are playing some good ball. They look like the favorite right to come out of the AL IMHO.

Hats off to CLE but man did BOS stink it up the last 2 weeks of the season into this series.....3 of my brothers went to the game and the fun texts stopped around the 6th inning.... Maybe that mad dash left them with an empty tank...
The Inside of Outside
Well, they did win 11 in a row (with no days off) before the last two regular season series. Maybe that mad dash left them with an empty tank...Sure seemed like they ran out of gas in all phases of the game - pitching, hitting, even their defense - all were substandard. They appeared out of sync. Maybe a dose of credit should go to the Tribe for that, as they pitched, hit, and fielded well.
