  1. Just that it would have been sad if no one had mentioned that string of albums back then. I'm surprised I hadn't thought of it myself. I think I'll break out a little Stevie this afternoon if I get the chance.
  2. My bet is on the orchestra pit. Are you somewhere in rows 1 - 5?
  3. I was looking at Notre Dame's schedule, and while I expect they'll eke out a win or two in there somewhere, it's entirely possible that they could lose their first eight games. Then maybe people would forget the Michigan debacle a little bit.
  4. We're considering a trip to Chicago the weekend of the 15th, though it's still just in the "maybe we should" stage. If it happens, I think it's a safe bet that we'll be eating at Ethiopian Diamond at some point (haven't been there yet), and probably also at Amitabul on Milwaukee Avenue.
  5. Fifth row in the pit, thanks to Wendy's pre-sale prowess. Looking forward to my first Wilco show since Kalamazoo in ... '05, I think it was?
  6. I'm just glad SOMEbody did.
  7. Perhaps I'm reading this wrong, but you seem to be implying that none of the other opinions in this thread are honest or come from such a person.
  8. The following are indispensable: Innervisions Talking Book Fulfillingness' First Finale Songs in the Key of Life I'm not sure what he plays live, but if you have those four records you'll want to spin them pretty regularly regardless. In fact, now that I think about it, add Music of My Mind to the front end of those, and you've got one of the best consecutive five-album streaks in history. I wonder if anyone mentioned these way back when in the thread on that subject?
  9. I still believe they're worthy of votes, though I'm not surprised (or upset) that they've dropped out of the top 25. If they look better this week they might even break back in.

  11. Two blocked field goals in the last two minutes and the Blue go down. Well, that frees up some of my Saturdays this year.
  12. The Michigan radio broadcasters are cracking me up ... with the Wolverines down 31-20 in the second half to Appalachian State(!), I heard one of them say the following: "Every second counts in a tight game." I'm not sure exactly what's "tight" about this game. Michigan's getting their asses handed to them. Everyone said the defense would be shaky this year. Everyone was right.
  13. I'm not a native Ann Arborite, though I've lived here for eight years now. I'm also not the sort who goes out a whole lot. That said, I have my particular favorites. Food: Ann Arbor has a lot of good food, and if you're into ethnic cuisine, you'll have some choices. For Thai, I love Tuptim Thai on Washtenaw and Lotus Thai on Ann Arbor-Saline Road (in the strip mall where Target is). For Indian, there are many choices, most of them downtown -- Shalimar, Raja Rani, Madras Masala, Chennai Vilas -- all of them are pretty decent (though sadly, I believe my favorite, Shehan-Shah, is now closed).
