I've stood in line with Mike Tirico at the local Bruegger's Bagels on at least three occasions. I met Mike Mills at a Posies show at the Double Door in Chicago a few years back. I was just behind Will Perdue on the way out of Wrigley after a Cubs game. I almost literally bumped into Henry Rollins at a bookstore in Chicago. I saw Rick Nielsen at the Pita Inn in Skokie (just before this year's 3/3 Tweedy Living Room show). I've had several other encounters like this, but they don't leap immediately to mind.

Correct.

Among other things, where's the outrage that Bonds was pretty clearly dogging it so he could hit #756 at home? "Class" is a word that I shall never apply to Bonds, except in the negative.

The website kind of sucks ... make sure you have FlashPlayer 9 or later installed, then go here. Click the "Video" link at the bottom, then sit through a clip while the trailer loads. I can't decide whether this will be really great or really awful. Good to see Ricky Gervais, and it looks like Michelle Pfeiffer is continuing the resurrection of her career.

How'd I miss this? Happy Birthday Vanessa! Hope you had a fantastic day.

"Under the Pink," right? That one's pretty good, but it was a bit disappointing to me after Little Earthquakes. Nothing of hers has hooked me ever since, but I continue to respect what she does and there've been some good songs here and there.

I just automatically assume that anyone going to Redmond has some interest in Microsoft.
-
But even then, his interest would exist only because he had a personal stake in it, which isn't any less sad.
-
Why Redmond? If you're hoping to go see the Microsoft megacampus (and aren't an authorized visitor), prepare to get hustled off the grounds by their security services. The place is all open and you can drive right in, but you're not actually supposed to be there and the rent-a-cops will see to it that you leave quickly. We got lucky and the dude who ushered us off the premises turned out to be a really nice guy and talked to us for several minutes (where're ya from, etc.), but he was quite firm about us leaving.

Sorry, I just find it endlessly hilarious when the subject of tattoos come up and the word "tattoo" is misspelled. -

I was halfway through another response when I decided it was easier just to expand my "ignore" list.

Amateur. Carries over from album to album? So, they sound more or less the same from album to album? Is that really how you want artists to be? Yes, Parsons is often credited with "inventing" country rock, but he's surely not the first artist to play it. The Beatles come to mind... So you're telling me you know what Gram Parsons' music would sound like today if he were still alive? Do you really expect people to take you seriously when you post such inanities? Please find an example of anyone on this board "acting like this album's sound is a revelation in music." People have said

If you posted in ALL CAPS, any reasonable person would be perfectly justified in complaining about your posting style, as they would if you posted everything in huge fuchsia letters. Why do you think your own ridiculously annoying style should be any different? A message board is about communication. Your style of posting inhibits communication. It makes your posts harder to read. Why would you stick with something that hinders your ability to communicate your thoughts? Why would you handicap yourself by virtually guaranteeing that anyone who reads your posts will have their hackles up becau
