I can envision a scenario where in the final episode, Tony gets whacked, but takes out some of Phil's men in the process. Instead of being a victory for Phil's crew, Patsy becomes the witness that brings down Phil and his family for good. As for Carmela and the kids ... who's to say? Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon ought to take you about 22 hours. He goes off on lengthy tangents that don't seem to have much to do with the plot, but his writing is very rich and rewarding, for the most part. This one's not as good as Snow Crash or The Diamond Age, but if it hooks you, you'll not want to put it down.

It's a terrific album, but I don't feel it's aged that well, especially compared to other Beatles classics. I'm a little too young to have experienced it in context -- I was born the next year -- but I've talked to lots of people, including my parents, about what a total mindfuck it was when it was released. I remember that documentary from '87 ... I'd definitely like to see that again.
