  1. oo, earlimart! midlake! thanks for posting this.
  2. that'd be perfect backing music to a Wilco fansite with animated gifs of the bandmembers dancing, and maybe some hamsters. that sounds like it was a fun project though.
  3. The Flaming Lips / Clouds Taste Metallic
  4. with the possible exception of Sky, you've got it all backwards, brother.
  5. studio albums? alright... AM Being There Summerteeth Yankee Hotel Foxtrot A ghost is born Sky Blue Sky
  6. I don't think Beck works to his potential, he's super incredibly talented, but then he half-ass-es his albums to make shitty videos with his friends.
  7. so that's where the missing "e" went.
  8. The Who also had an energy and sense of danger/unexpected that The Arcade Fire lacks (at least in that performance), the smashing would be the climax. Win smashed his (acoustic?) guitar after their performance in the most premeditated fashion imaginable. It was lame and it speaks to the melodramatic nature of the band that has kept me from buying their records. I will be giving them further chances as I can stomach it, but (like the decemberists) I may have to forget who I'm listening to while I listen to it. edit: haha, i'm a little slow
  9. Wilco is in a league of their own, though I think the most exciting band today is Deerhoof, and that might have something to do with how, in the time Wilco recorded four studio albums, they've done eight albums. They're the only band I can think off the top of my head that keeps an album a year pace (year and three months for the new one, but they lost a member). I like all their albums, but their prolific nature makes it easier to get into (or forgive) any area they explore. Don't like it, just wait. If I end up disliking Sky Blue Sky on the other hand, it's been three years since I've had ne
  10. I have, it was all kinds of awesome.
  11. let me say it first, expect great things to come from these guys.
  12. and good bands on the cover reduce the number of months that clowns like fall out boy get their promotion.
  13. what's this "hopefully not" business? that'd be a guaranteed way to sell more albums. Wilco has kids to put through college, you know.
  14. to add to the ones mentioned above, i bet they'll throw in I'm a Wheel.
  15. as long as they play spiders. and AGIB will age well, after time people will realize that it's not only the greatest Wilco album, but possibly the greatest anyone album. there'll be threads here like "tongue-tied was right" and "tongue-tied wasn't joking"
  16. This is what I'm waiting to see, because my favorite Wilco album, AGIB, technically has Loose Fur playing for all but one track, and is produced by O'Rourke like both Loose Fur albums. So while Wilco is the bigger and realer band, I think I might prefer the three minds of Loose Fur on record.
  17. I think Friend Opportunity is going to be my favorite album this year, even with all the competition. Wilco and the White Stripes will hopefully follow close behind. Tip: don't play "Look Away" in your car on the highway because any traffic around you will freak you out, or maybe just me. That song originally freaked me out playing it anywhere, but I've come to anticipate the changes in it, and I really like it. I want to see the film they were scoring it with. +81 was really the big draw from the start, but I don't think there's a weak song on this album, I can't pick a favorite. Even "Ki
  18. all that for two words the other guy typed, somebody here is troubled by what others think, and it isn't aricandover.
