The last WS wasn't my favorite, but the Raconteurs album was pretty damn solid. -

whoa, almost clicked, i'm staying out of Just a Fan until it comes out, see you in May! -
i'm in the middle of a third song right now. the songs have surprisingly good structure compared all the other myspace people i've given time to listen to. i like the music, it's especially pretty backing Fateful Deliverance. The singing is so-so, seems too loud to my ears, seems like the music should be brought up so that the singing is with it, not over it. lyrics seem bland but not cringeworthy, Dry Your Eyes kindof bored me, but Maybe Tonight was solid. i'm just finishing "where i belong" right now, and that is definitely a Wilco-esque ending.

that's the creepiest photo of a muppet i've ever seen

a little projection maybe? joking. but for me it has nothing to do with guilt or morals at all. i just know it'll be more exciting when i actually make an effort to purchase it, unwrap it, and put it on, rather than listening to it in my room staring at a computer screen watching the shitstorm of arguments that will ensue once SBS starts making the rounds.
-
Yeah, but the argument was over how the band intends people to listen. which isn't really an argument i want to pursue any further. As a last bit of reasoning, SBS also comes out right after I'm done with finals, so waiting also starts my summer off right.

Stream.

because some people want the finished product in their hands as the band intended?

i'm kindof upset at myself for listening to the live recordings, though i did hear some live in person, so it wasn't that bad. i never heard any AGIB songs until i bought it, i remember the sunny day i picked up AGIB and drove around to it, how I kept anticipating some sort of chorus for Spiders, and it seemed like it refused to go anywhere. it all sounded so fresh. i hope how i can have a similar experience in May.

they must know their odds of getting another "best packaging" grammy are slim, if they're going to have already award-won album art.

beige to grey to white, i think they've finally used up all the neutral colors. next album: pink.

i kid, i kid. NP: Tom Waits: Bone Machine

Haven't heard Neon Bible, I liked about half the songs on Funeral, though in general they seem a bit too dramatic for me. I'm a twenty-something and they don't particularly speak to me, in fact the lyrics I actually paid attention to on Funeral I found naive.

Well, I'd assume (maybe wrongfully) that one would be into AM for the country vibe and one would choose Summerteeth because it has more pop hooks than you can shake a stick at. But I wouldn't call these reasons, or others for favoring these albums, deranged. To me AM sounds rushed and the songwriting takes a dip between the stuff Jeff was writing for Tupelo, and what he would soon be writing for Being There. Summerteeth had the songs, but in terms of production, I think it is the worst sounding Wilco album. Being There, YHF and AGIB are my favorite Wilco albums, AGIB edging in front of the oth
