  1. are you gonna vote for this? http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080126/pl_nm/...on_dispute_dc_3
  2. i've already voted here in SC by absentee. a long time republican i voted for Obama as he is a born leader. if he does all he says he could cost me millions (mainly in inheritance taxes, but i make a fair sum myself). but money ain't shit without a decent country to live in. we need someone to try and bring us all together, be fiscally responsible and not act like a jackass at every turn. he may not have the most experience but he is probably the wisest of anyone running and i trust he'll put good people in the responsible posts to guide our country instead of some benefactor's third cousin li
  3. well don't blame me if they don't let ya in. i've never seen a venue allow full slr rigs in, they consider it professional photography. if it fits in your pocket you'll probably not get stopped unless you start using a flash during the show.
  4. all seated up front. i think they're labelled with double or triple letters like AA, BB, etc. the camera thing is a no go unless you can sneak one in. the promoter usually has a professional photographer or two there. and yes, magnolia's is Good Eats but on the pricey side, comparatively.
  5. if anyone's interested in extending their trip to charleston , blue mtn. is playing thursday feb 28th at the pour house.
  6. man i used to love basil's but it is not as good as it once was. prices have escalated, portions have decreased, service is subpar. just my opinion ,some still love it, and it's still probably better than the other thai option downtown, little thai too. rue de jean , a block further south on john street, has also declined over the past few years but is still very good for bistro fair like mussels and fries, steaks, burgers, a great duck salad, and sushi. you can spend a fortune there or eat pretty cheap.
  7. at least three... if she gets up there i may throttle her. once was cute, twice is amusing, more than that is annoying.
  8. i'm not so certain. the import has no gatefold but i believe the original does. (someone correct me if i'm wrong on that as i've gotten rid of my original in favor of the import.)
  9. there are two versions of being there on vinyl, the original US release and the later import release. the import is a lot brighter in sound, the cymbals knock you off your chair. they sound as if they were distorted in the recording of the album. the original lp and cd had the top end muted comparably, probably to hide this fact. i think the import has a more live sound to it but the original release sounds more balanced high to low. at least that's my take on them.
  10. well it didn't sell but a copy recently did for $40.
  11. they've got some virtual disc download program, which i guess is bluetooth or wifi, whereby you put the cd/dvd in the home computer drive and it'll download onto your macbook air. but i guess there was no way to put an optical drive into something that thin.
  12. i've called it cronenberg's masterpiece elsewhere. i'll stick with that. one of the best movies i've seen. the cinematography is stunning with the facial details really popping out on screen.
  13. it's very sibilant, with harsh "S" sounds but he's like that a lot. it does sound a little more pronounced on SBS i'll agree. i've read some complaints that SBS is too compressed, i don't hear it myself but i guess it may be a little more compressed than Ghost.
  14. we're talkin' about markie freakin' post. dang she was hot and perky and loved the hairspray and shoulder pads. her and bill would make a good couple. i'm jealous.
  15. yes you can stick a fork in edwards after SC. he will be done. he trails abysmally in the polls and has for the past year. it's gonna be tight with obama and clinton despite what the recent polls showed. mccain will not win in SC. i bet huckabee wins another, as they say there'll be upwards of 60% evangelicals voting in the republican primary.
  16. thanks for posting that article. it definitely has some food for thought.

  18. few times do i ever se a youtube that floors me. that's one of 'em. i guess he only breaks one string but the way it keeps catching the light it seems like they're flying off the guitar like the hubcaps in bullit.
  19. one day people will look back and see their greatness. sophtware slump is a classic up there with yhf and ok computer.
  20. they're so all over the board that it's not too hard to only listen to ylt. then throw in some live shows for the mind freak and pass out to summer sun. get up and repeat. i did get on a big stereolab kick this year but they're all over the place too.
  21. that made me laugh about as much as tyler hansbrough's expression. (get it he only has one.)
  22. here's one right here thanks for posting some particulars, i'm getting slammed today.
  23. i've been looking around today but i'm at work so i don't have much time. here's a pro-edwards article from back then: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/...0110.green.html so the pool drain award is where he got the big bucks but still the obstetric suits were the bread and butter and why don't y'all go track down some obstetricians, if you can still find one, and ask them about those kind of cases. yeh, edwards says he had medical people reviewing cases as does any malpractice lawyer, that means nothing. one poorly documented office visit and that doctor is hosed in any such
