well probably have a better idea of lebron's palns after the nba lottery tonight. pieces will start falling in place, though not officially for 40 something more days. Meanwhile is another Boston v LA series already a done deal? Odom played big last night.

The Cavs are on the ropes. Cleveland fans booed their hero last night and the end looks imminent. The Celtics look younger than ever, and they are deep, four players who can take over a game. No one else in the league has that.

It certainly was a bit sloppy for so late in the game. That being said it was a totally necessary episode that tied up major loose ends. I think they could've done what they did in half the time and covered more ground with the current storyline.

That last night is gonna be EPIC! I'm tempted to call in sick to work the next day. I imagine the ratings will be around 20-25 million, putting it in the top 20 all time finales.

The lineup thus far seems a little underwhelming compared to my imagination.

I think the upcoming episode is gonna be one of the all-time greats. I'm giddy with anticipation. Is anyone else going to lock themselves up at home along, pull the shades and shut off the phone during the finale? That's my plan, even though my mom wants to have a party. I think it's gonna be way too personal for that.

Damn, Rondo might very well be the best Celtic. His performance today is one for the ages. Excellent.

Blake Swarzenbach of the famed california punk band Jawbreaker (who Lucero cover) had a similar verdict in the mid-90's. He had surgery to rectify the matter and what do you know everyone hated his voice afterwards. A lot of Blake's charm was his gravelly, smoke stained voice, when it cleared up, it happened to coincide with the band's major label debut, so everyone thought it was an attempt at reaching a wider audience, when in reality it was a necesary move. I love Ben's voice and I hope he makes the same decision and has a long and productive career. Lucero is about as throwback a band as t

One of the Green River Sub Pop releases is surprise green. They featured Mark Arm who ent on to be in Mudhoney and Jeff and Stone who went on to be in Mother Love Bone and Pearl Jam. They were more punk than those latter bands, sort of glam punk, had their moments.

Well in defense of lucero, a band I've liked for close to ten years. See them live for certain, then get "Tennessee" and the new album "1372 overton park" has lots of Memphis session players, full horns, the works, a very early 70's stonesy feel to it. But really go see them live and if you don't appreciate the hell out of them afterwards then stop and don't pass go, but I think you will.

I've toured with punk bands where every show for 2 months is in a living room or basement or kitchen or in a field, a squat, etc.

The preview on abc.com for next week looks intriquing. Looks like we're gonna get some long overdue island backstory.

Wilco Playing South Bend's Coveleski Ballpark, IN
LouisvilleGreg replied to mdpoet's topic in Just A Fan
Hey Wendy is South Bend any bigger than Ft. Wayne? They're pouring salt into your wound. -
"War on War" still slays me all these years later, my favorite on YHF and top 5 all time. That song actually helped me get through some hard shit back in '02. The only time I ever cried at a Wilco show was hearing "War On War" live around that time. The more appropriate thread should have been between all of the versions of "Kamera." I'm partial to the big rock demo version. I wish they would play it that way live.

As far as Sayid, Sun and Jin, soon enough none of that will matter as the alt will become the primary timeline for everyone save for Jack and Locke, er I mean Jacob & MIB. Also, lots of theorists believe a volcano will play some role in the finale. Great episode last night.

Wilco was played in an episode of the Wire, and the world was perfect. hoodoo voodoo.

Ouch Cleveland that was an ugly loss. Nice to see the old Rasheed show up for the Celtics.

Hey Lou have a great day. Hope to see you in Mass this summer.

I have a major problem with basketball on tv. Last weekend I watched close to 5 full NBA games. I live alone and have no life.

Boston wont be a cakewalk for the CAVS, lots of savvy vets and one of the best pgs in the league. Also what's the real deal with Lebron's right arm. Anyone else see him shoot that free throw left handed at the end of that still close game last night? didn't look too good.

Not exactly Wilco but even cooler,WFPK 91.9 here in Louisville played "Pecan Pie" today at about 1:30. How's that for a relatively obscure deep cut.

How do you buy music? (isues, quality, quantity)
LouisvilleGreg replied to Vacant Horizon's topic in Someone Else's Song
I'm gonna do it 10 records at a time with commentary on each photo and try to show the inserts, etc. I have no timetable for the project, but thought it would be fun to do in spare time. I gotta say that already after the first 20, I'm realizing how much time it may take. -
How do you buy music? (isues, quality, quantity)
LouisvilleGreg replied to Vacant Horizon's topic in Someone Else's Song
I buy both vinyl and cd formats for the following artists: Wilco, Springsteen, MMJ, Dr. Dog, DBT's and that's about it. For new stuff that I'm unfamiliar with I usually buy the cd first as it's cheaper, and if I really like it i come back and buy the vinyl. For a truly insane project I'm working on documenting all of my vinyl, click on my flickr link below. -

Love how they slipped that "American Radiohead" in at the end.
