  1. New site looks great with tons of interview and video links including a nearly 10 minute long Cooking With Shonna clip. I only made it about 2 minutes through that one.
  2. This first round is certainly shaping up to be interesting. I'm surprised by Boston's 3-0 lead, but not convinced that Miami still can't win a couple of games. As I said in the first post in this thread, the Thunder are young and athletic and fearless and it's showing big time right about now. I don't think they can win in LA, but it could very well go 7. Same for Chicago, they could knot up their series with the Cavs as well. Still optimistic that Portland will win and hoping that the Mavs lose.
  3. "We've Been Had" and "New Madrid" were both played from time to time up until around '03 or so. I saw them play "We've Been Had" at the 9:30 Club one time, I think I would lose my shit if they ever played it again.
  4. The below interview is from '06 and was recently published for the first time in Richmond, VA's Style Weekly magazine. Ghost of His Smile An unpublished interview with the late Mark Linkous of Sparklehorse. Interview by Don Harrison This conversation with Mark Linkous was conducted following the 2006 release of Sparklehorse’s fourth full-length CD, “Dreamt For Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain.” The Virginia native and his band had just come off a tour of the United Kingdom, selling out three shows in London, and were about to embark on a two-week tour of Spain and Portugal.
  5. He is a total joke, barely classifies as a musician, an unabashed womanizer, yet I still love "Cry Tough" 25 years later, and I hope he has a full recovery.
  6. Thanks for the link. Carl Perkins Cadillac kills me everytime, it's about as perfect a pop song as I can think of, just devastating.
  7. Yeah i was sort of surprised when it didn't come out in '08 for the 30th anniversary, but I guess they were busy back then, not so much so now. I'm sure it will be incredible when it does. It's hard to go wrong with footage from that tour.
  8. I must say that I'm stunned by the Boston Miami score tonight.
  9. I thought this was a bit of a prep episode. Lots of people and arcs rapidly coming together in the alt though, they're practically tripping over one another. I don't think Sayid killed Desmond, and perhaps he was even shaken back into his old self. I'm still not sure how the standoff on the beach is gonna playout, but perhaps Ben and Richard will have something to do with that. The ending was abrupt, but I get the impression that MIB is right where he wants to be, that is with Jack. Not looking forward to a two week wait for the next episode.
  10. Don't you think that would be more like a 4 or 5 disc box set?
  11. Looks like a fairly solid set. Looking forward to it: LONDON CALLING DVD SET FOR JUNE 22 Less than a year after the June 28, 2009 "Hard Rock Calling" festival in London, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's performance there will see release as London Calling: Live in Hyde Park. The concert film, which kicks off with the titular Clash song and runs more than two-and-a-half-hours, is set for release from Columbia on June 22, on one Blu-Ray disc and as a two-DVD set. From this morning's press release: ...the 163-minute film documents 26 tracks of live Springsteen that begin in dayl
  12. Never had it either and furthermore reluctantly got my first ever cell phone in May of last year, at the age of 34.
  13. It seems like it would be a no brainer for the YHF deluxe edition to be next year of the year after, depending on if you count the digital or physical release as being 10 years ago. But a Mermaid set would be great as well, though probably more complicated and unlikely.
  14. I found this on backstreets and thought it was pretty funny: THE WILD, THE INNOCENT, & THE DHARMA INITIATIVE For those watching last night's Lost, Hurley's journey toward reuniting with island soulmate Libby took a decidely "Wild & Innocent" turn. Sitting in a restaurant called Spanish Johnny's, Hurley tells Libby that he thought he'd instead be meeting his blind date: a gal named Rosalita. Coincidence? Absolutely not. The episode was penned by executive producers and writing partners Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, with Adam (pictured right) being a longtime Bruce fan. Married w
  15. Garnett suspended game, Richardson fined $25K for altercation NEW YORK -- Kevin Garnett has been suspended by the NBA for the Boston Celtics' second playoff game against the Miami Heat. The one-game suspension was imposed Sunday for hitting Quentin Richardson of the Miami Heat in the head with an elbow with 40 seconds left in Boston's 85-76 win in Game 1 on Saturday night. The league also fined Richardson $25,000. The altercation occurred near Miami's bench while Boston's Paul Pierce lay on the floor with an apparent right shoulder injury. Garnett said he wanted to make room for Pierce as He
  16. Is the original "Chronic Town" rare or valuable? I've had mine forever and it seems like I've seen it floating around a fair amount over the years.
  17. KG and I quote " I just saw Q standing over the top of him (a downed Pierce) and I told him to give him some room and the next thing you know mayhem broke out." I love how he leaves out the part about his wildly flowing elbow that started the whole affair. That being said though I love KG, he is about as passionate and fired up as any player ever. Sure it can be a bit over the top at times, but you gotta love his energy. As I said earlier this is going to be a tight series and I still expect that.
  18. One of the unreleased tracks "Plunder My Soul" was released today on a 7" for RSD and it's up there with the best of "Exile" and could have easily been on the album. It's got me excited about the bonus edition.
  19. Got an ugly orange Wilco (the album) bandanna as a freebie with the purchase of the box set.
  20. Lined up about 45 minutes early with a bunch of other geeks outside of Ear X Tacy here in Louisville. By the time the doors opened there were probably 50 people in line. The whole RSD display was one big table in a corner of the store and within seconds of opening it was mobbed. People were grabbing up records by the armload. I initially couldn't find KTV then I noticed it was behind the counter, so I focused on that first then swept back and got the DBT 7", the Ted Leo 7", the Stones 7" with an excellent "Exile" outtake on it, got the new Dr. Dog on vinyl, the Springsteen 10" and the two Joe
  21. I lived in Richmond, VA for the years when Eric Maynor, reserve pg for the Thunder played for VCU. I finally saw him for the first time when the Thunder were on tv the other night and damn he looked good. His stat line was something around 15 points, 8 assists and 6 boards. Lots of good young pieces in OKCity and I was glad to see Maynor get some significant minutes. I don't think they're gonna back down from the Lakers at all. When you ain't got nothin', you got nothin' to lose.
  22. Let the games begin. Kicking off this Saturday call yr shots now. I'll take the Cavs, Magic, Hawks and Heat in the East, with the Celtics/Heat series being the tightest. In the West I'll go with the Lakers, Mavs, TrailBlazers and the Nuggets. The Lakers will have a hell of a 1st round series with a young and stacked OKLA City team, the Mavs and Spurs will go 7, the Trailblazers youth will overcome the more experienced but slowing Suns and i think the Nuggets will sweep the Jazz. EAST SERIES (8) Bulls vs. (1) Cavaliers (7) Bobcats vs. (2) Magic (6) Bucks vs. (3) Hawks (5) Heat vs. (4) Ce
  23. "New Madrid" was probably the last holdover from UT that we'll ever hear. It was fairly regular up until 2003 or so. I too would just about die if they played "Gun" though. Perhaps it could be a long shot at a future residency run, but probably not.
  24. Just watching the SNL best of the 2000's and barely even paying attention when wait what's that it's "Hate it Here" footage from a couple of years back. Nice surprise, anyone else stumble across it?
  25. There was about a 6 month period in 2002 where I was as close to 100% as I've ever been with anyone. I'm talking weeks at a time without anything else, mostly YHF.
