I recorded a demo for a 50-something cover band and stayed in contact with them. They eventually asked me to play guitar for them, which I'm still doing. Truly, it's probably the best band I've been in. Lots of Beatles, the Band, CCR...those kinds of tunes. Super Fun.

The amount of sonic experimentation on that album is fabulous. I would argue that it's their most adventurous album to date. As I recall, Jim O'Rourke said that he cut 80% of the noise off of what the band originally had recorded. I would really like to hear that. Good luck on locating all the stuff they used, I'm excited to see what you come up with.

^^Could be an upset in the making.

I'm ready to crown the Patriots and watch the draft.

Artistic license need not apply to my gripe.

Using what instead of that. "I have a car what goes fast."

I love both bands/musicians. I think Andrew Bird's material is amazing...but it's his material. I don't think Wilco and Bird's artistic styles would suit each other from a songwriting point of view. Armchair Apocrypha vs. Sky Blue Sky -- two very different sounds, IMO.

Yep.

"We expect to win the World Series every year." Bite me. I'm glad the Yankees look bad.

If I am picking and want to switch to fingers, I can drop my pick and press it against my ring finger with my thumb. Then quickly work it down so that it stays between the meat of my thumb and the bottom of my ring finger. The movement is almost like spinning a ring on your ring finger with your thumb. Then I have my index, middle finger and thumb to finger pick with. That might make no sense, but it's helpful if you can get it.

I cannot wait until this is available for download. Not everyday your two favorite musicians/groups play together!!

Things I think are wrong with this country

I get the feeling there is a growing acceptance of irresponsibility in America. People use less and less common sense and make poor judgments; making no reservations about pointing a finger at someone or something to blame when things go wrong. Case in point: the Internet. I watched a news program last night where some creep coerced a 16 year old girl to meet him after talking with her in a chat room. A kidnapping and terrible line of events occurred. The girl was thankfully found alive. Her parents blamed the Internet, not their daughter's poor judgment. They said there needs to be "cyber p -
I really like Whatever and Ever Amen and Rockin' the Suburbs. Both are really cool. I find his later stuff to be a little pretentious and goofy.

That huge headstock is awesome. I'd never seen one of these before Tweedy was playing one.

Cuomo Demos to Include Songs from "Songs From The Black Hole"
a.miller replied to bsr8j's topic in Someone Else's Song
Many years ago, before the sucking, I was a huge weezer fan. I got my hands on part of what remained from the Black Hole sessions and it was awesome. I pray this is some sort of artistic revival for a very stale band. -
Even after trading Madonna.

I think the simple fact that most people don't have high-end listening devices is what makes low resolution recordings acceptable. I do lots of audio/studio work and use very accurate headphones. I also listen to any music with the same headphones and it is totally noticeable. Until people have a setup where hearing the difference is a possibility (i.e. not iPod headphones) low bit rate recordings will continue to be widely accepted.

Make sure it shows the street signs -- you know, so others can find it.

But that's what the USSR did...... Seriously, though....If you give the same thing to people that have not worked hard for it as those who have -- all the drive to achieve something is gone. Why should I work hard to get something when it's given to someone who won't work as hard? -
Wilclothing. I've been saying that in my head all day.

You get what you pay for. I would not buy it, nor most other $120 guitars. Save a couple bucks up and look at something a little better. Just a couple weeks ago someone posted a topic on the best guitars under $500.

There's a big problem in our country regarding people's toes getting stepped on and who deserves rights. -
I read an article earlier this year stating that Wendy's fast food chain was implementing a "call center" for their ordering. This is coming as many complaints occur regarding the order-taking person's inability to speak English. When placing an order, you would speak to a person from the call center who then inputs the order for the franchise location and it pops up in their kitchen, specifying your order. It could work. Anyway....sorry to hijack.
