  1. It kinda irked me a bit that they called "Make you Feel My Love" a Garth Brooks song. Would it have killed them to give Bob Dylan a shout out? Of course it seems everybody and their brother/sister covered the "Garth Brooks" song http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Make_You_Feel_My_Love edit: Of course, perhaps, many of the people watching last night might of asked, "Bob who?"
  2. I don't have Scaggs album, but I have Duane's An Anthology and Loan Me Dime is on that. Great, great long jam. Out of all the Allman Brothers material I have, I think I listed to Anthology the most. I found this interesting in the Wiki link...I did not know Wenner produced any records.
  3. Definitely looking forward to this.
  4. You're a trooper. From what little I heard and from what I read, the run has been great. Hoping for a nice box set treatment of some sort.
  5. http://www.toyotapark.com/ Never saw a show there. One of Clapton's Crossroads shows was there a few years back. He put it out on DVD in case you might of seen it. DEFINITELY not the World...I am not even sure what they are calling World these days.
  6. http://www.dead.net/video09 Another Dead rehearsal. Again no speakers on my work computer. also lots of photo's here: http://www.dead.net/dead09-goodies lastly a LOM show where Little Sunflower is played http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=523454
  7. I'm not home to check my copy, but is Atlanta Pop Festival disks that has the rather "stoned out" intro of band? If so it cracks me up every time I put it on.
  8. Oscar was the last book I read in the book club I am in. I thought is it was a great book. Enjoy.
  9. Not much of a fan of his, but I would be hard pressed to name another performer who could do this.
  10. I agree with the Shins. I am not much of a fan, but my wife was excited to see them perform at Lolla '06, and she and I were extremely disappointed. If I remember correctly didn't they all wear green outfits. On the other hand I liked the Sonic Youth's performance. It was the first time I ever saw them perform, so perhaps I may not be the best one to judge if they put on a decent performance that particular day, but I enjoyed it though.
  11. Wouldn't mind getting the tape of this show. Tonight's (3.12.09) setlist was: Set 1: Little Martha Trouble No More Leave My Blues at Home Who's Been Talking Black Hearted Woman You Can't Lose What You Never Had The Sky Is Crying (with Buddy Guy) You Don't Love Me (with Buddy Guy) Southbound (Buddy Guy/PageMcConnell/Trey Anastasio) Set 2 I Know You Rider w/Trey Anastasio & Page McConnell In Memory of Elizabeth Reed w/Trey Anastasio & Page McConnell Dreams Jessica Encore: Statesboro Blues
  12. Below was written on a Stones board by a guy who is watching the internet feed. This should sound pretty good.
  13. It is kinda cool that they are showing an internet feed of this year's Beacon run. I think it is $125 for all the shows. I wonder if more bands are gong to try this.
  14. Off the top of my head: Dylan - 24 Wilco (and wilco related) - 22
  15. Thanks for the link. Looking forward to the "Chi-town chugga-lugga" songs and as stated before David Hidalgo's accordion.
  16. I agree with the later. But, Rush is not a failed disc jockey and I do not think the Libertarian Party would want Rush as their spokesperson.
  17. I found the Newsweek article to be great. I like the whole debate within conservative party, between the intellectuals and the "other" conservatives. Rush and I think FOX has definitely helped to bring the term "conservative" into the gutter. Of course Bush helped the most. I think the Frum and the rest of the intellectuals of the conservative party are thinking more about votes, rather than radio/TV ratings. They are looking toward the future elections. I think Frum is right when he implies that Rush is more concern provoking rather than coming up with any ideas and trying to persuade.
  18. I always wondered what conversations Ron Tutt had with Jerry Garcia and Elvis during the 70's, while Tutt was playing in both their bands. It must of been weird for Tutt to go from a Elvis Vegas gig to a Garcia San Fran gig. Not to mention the interesting drugs that each camp must of had. My parents were teenagers during the 50's and were Elvis fans so there were plenty of Elvis records around the house. Mostly his 60's and beyond stuff. Though, now, I prefer his Sun Records stuff. Elvis as Recorded at Madison Square Garden was one of the earliest records I remember playing when I was a kid.
  19. Yeah, I did not grab it before they yanked it, either.
  20. The busts definitely suck. I think Moe brought up that Red Rocks will be watching what happens at Hampton. Do you think this upends the possible return to Red Rocks? The NY Times had a rather nicer story. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/10/arts/music/10phish.html?hp
  21. The $60 tickets are going on sale some time this week on the Lolla website.
