Howie's story is a tragic one, for sure. I have never seen Petty - but my sister-in-law is a big fan and every tour my brother and her go and see him play. This year they are driving up to Milwaukee, in lieu of Wrigley. I never heard her complain about a set list - but I think my brother would have be fine to stop seeing him 10 years or so years ago. He did enjoy the Mudcructh show, though - mostly because it was at the Riviera and not in some shed.

Numerous papers are stating Ron Blair in their reviews - but you right, I don't think I would have recognized him. http://music.blog.ajc.com/2017/04/28/concert-review-and-photos-tom-petty-and-the-heartbreakers-highlight-40-years-of-rock-in-atlanta/ron-blair/#main

Everyone watch out for the bags of various items that may start being thrown about...be prepared to duck.... Agree though, the Allmans are way, way above Skynyrd, Boston, or the Doobies, musicianship wise - tastes are all subjective, but musicianship is not.

I am looking forward to the new CRB Betty Board release. Definitely prefer live CRB to the studio stuff. A new CRB studio record is in the can and should be out in June, I think. I really enjoyed the CRB show I saw last October.

Lack of money may be a reason why Steve is sitting it out. Each ticket is $35 in Chicago. They are playing two shows at the Metro which holds 1100, according to Wiki = $77,000 over both nights. Guess that isn't too, too much when you have 10 musicians/roadies/management/travel/room/board, etc.... I paid $25 for CRB last October for a Chicago Gig. The hall that I saw them holds about 1000 and it was probably 2/3rds or so filled. I can see a Crowes reunion happening in a few years.

Glad Rich at least asked Steve to join -- I was wondering if he reached out to him or not.

We are few shows into Season 2 of Shameless. Fun show.

Thanks - I haven't gotten around to watching it, but I did put on my saved shows on Netflix. The kid and I may just stick with American Pickers for now. Will check out the Detectorists, though - seems interesting.

Yeah same here - today, just a constant nagging cough/ watery eyes, nose, etc. Breathing seems okay - the kid is also asthmatic, which is always a concern to the school nurse/teacher and may be a reason why they booted her out, today. Which is understandable, I guess, in hindsight.
-
Tell me about it -- granted, it's only preschool - she's 5. She should have stayed, though.
-
Jinxed myself - just got a call my kid's school nurse - i am off to pick her up. Buggers.

and wreaking havoc on my daughter's allergies.

Tweedy's episode of Parks and Rec. was playing when I was at my Mexican lunch spot this morning - the episode when he was trying to sing Andy's Karate Chop Master song -- I laughed, again.

Sad news. Heard Dickey's 'Duane's Tune' on the radio this morning on the way to work -- I don't think I ever heard it before. My first impression was hair metal - Skid Row or something. It just seemed way to forced.

Figures - that's what I get for giving the HOF the benefit of the doubt
-
Plus, Neil probably always had better weed than Pete. I can't imagine the inductees not having complete control on who inducts them - -but who knows, the R&R HOF is a weird organization.

Looks like Glenn is in the professor business, too. My wife probably would have flipped if she ran into on campus... http://www.uchicago.edu/features/experimenting_with_song/

Just realized, the two owls that have been around my house for the last three years are back --- they could help with the situation, too. I think my village is filled with a bunch of lazy predators...
-
Do they end up drowning and do you just relocate them once they are caught. I do have a great park across the street from me. They all can live a very comfortable life over there.
-
I have not tried that -- I will definitely will - thanks.
-
That would be great - my youngest kid loves seeing the two scurry around, but I think a 5 year old is ready to see a cracked neck and a little blood trickily from a mouth (in case I don't get to the trap, before she sees it) Of course, hopefully sunflower butter works - since the stated 5 year old has a peanut allergy.
-
Yeah it does, even the wife said 'wow', while watching the video.

Yeah - I have tried 'nice' deterrences and such over the last two springs/summers with not much success -- think I am ready for your idea.

Wish a coyote would take care of the two chipmunks that hang out around my house - the burrowing little fuckers. We do have fox that hangs outs in our back yard from time to time, but I guess it is not a chipmunk fan.

I think they never had the 2nd set in the vault.
