  1. They announce this over a month ago -- i am guess the sales must be sluggish - I just got the " RFK STADIUM 1989 BOX BREAKING NEWS" email too. I did see the 7/12/89 show when in played in theaters last month - it was a fun show, but I will skip this one. Probably would spring for it if they included DVD's of both the shows - esp. at that price point. Also part of the email was about who bought Garcia's Wolf http://www.dead.net/features/interviews/all-family-brian-halligan?cmpid=dn/2017September1/AllInFamilyBria-ReadItHere-main-more-4&eml=2017September1/4095617/6131962&etsubid=39846
  2. Rather long piece from Stereogum - even starts off with a Wilco reference (I haven't read through the whole piece, yet). I enjoy the latest one, thus far, after two listens. http://www.stereogum.com/1958113/premature-evaluation-the-war-on-drugs-a-deeper-understanding/franchises/premature-evaluation/
  3. I agree - probably will pass on seeing them due to the venue.
  4. We came down Saturday - more than usual traffic, but it wasn't too bad (we make this trip around 8-10 times a year - my in-laws are from down here.) We are heading up tomorrow. We went up to my wife's family church, which is out in the country and on top of a hill. There were about 4 other groups of people there. The locals are definitely taking advantage of the event, selling shirts and such.
  5. We drove down to Southern IL - where it got to 100% --- real cool. My eight year old totally loved it, it kinda freaked my five year old out. Well worth the drive. Can't wait to 2024.
  6. "Keep you Day Job" - 80's. I thought the note that Hunter wrote in Box of Rain - his book of lyrics- was pretty funny. http://artsites.ucsc.edu/GDead/agdl/djob.html
  7. Fuck that sucks --- guess you can check with your neighbors, maybe they heard/saw something - though I am guessing they would have already told you if they did. Maybe it was random action or they had the wrong house/car --- I would really hate to think that we are coming to a point where people are smashing random cars because of a 'Resist' sticker - but I guess I wouldn't be surprised, either.
  8. Now, he isn't even going to keep up his job creation charade anymore - due to the all the CEO's bailing. from Trump. "Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council &Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!"
  9. It would have been cool if they would have worked up "Two Souls in Communion" in the studio.
  10. In other news listening to 6/14/76, again. Such a great Music Never Stopped. Whole show is great -- with 6/15, it would make a great release. Both shows were in the recent Betty Board retrieval.
  11. Oh - it's not that bad --- any way A-Man needs the 17 pages to think of new sub-topic-tag for eleventh Dead topic thread -- though it should be easy for eleven.
  12. Silberman is a smart cookie - maybe he figured out some Dead portal to the future... Bar-Lev said that Silberman was one of his best and most interesting interviews - he went to his place to talk to him for a bit and ended staying hours. A lot of it was left on the cutting room floor - not guessing you gonna search out the Easter Egg for the extra footage if the DVD is released... Anyway I am with you jff --- don't really understand any of this hostility (perhaps too strong of a word) -- the film had holes. Bar-Lev has said as much.
  13. Yeah - I thought the film was way too focused on Garcia. Bar-Lev should have made two doc's - one on Garcia and the other on the Grateful Dead. I do think one can hate cameras and mug for them at the same time, though.
  14. Started watching this on a whim - on episode 4 - agree, good stuff.
  15. Cool - my library system has both.
  16. Guess it would be cool to take pic's during the eclipse show, too.
  17. The below fest seems up your alley tinnitus photography -- I will be heading down to the area for the eclipse with the family - but not heading to the fest. The whole Ozzy starting his show at the start of the eclipse with Bark at the Moon, sounds like it would be a hoot. https://www.moonstock2017.com/ Also, for kicks, I am reading the below book -- very light on the actual music of Sabbath - which is disappointing - but for a rock bio, it's an ok read. Also read that Bruce Dickinson has an auto-bio coming out soon, too.
  18. Yep, thanks - never heard of it - looks like it's YouTube - need to check it out.
  19. Where was that REM footage taken from?
  20. I guess so - glad they are looking out for us.
  21. I don't get the whole 'private trading circles' mentality. That 3/21/75 show is a great show. The 'No Quarter', especially.
  22. Came across the below on another website - I imagine it is accurate - pretty amazing.
  23. Been listening to Dylan's Standard releases again for a bit and I just threw on Moonlight from Love and Theft --- fit's right in. Great tune - Moonlight.
