We drove down to Southern IL - where it got to 100% --- real cool. My eight year old totally loved it, it kinda freaked my five year old out. Well worth the drive. Can't wait to 2024.

"Keep you Day Job" - 80's. I thought the note that Hunter wrote in Box of Rain - his book of lyrics- was pretty funny. http://artsites.ucsc.edu/GDead/agdl/djob.html

Fuck that sucks --- guess you can check with your neighbors, maybe they heard/saw something - though I am guessing they would have already told you if they did. Maybe it was random action or they had the wrong house/car --- I would really hate to think that we are coming to a point where people are smashing random cars because of a 'Resist' sticker - but I guess I wouldn't be surprised, either.

Now, he isn't even going to keep up his job creation charade anymore - due to the all the CEO's bailing. from Trump. "Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council &Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!"

It would have been cool if they would have worked up "Two Souls in Communion" in the studio.

In other news listening to 6/14/76, again. Such a great Music Never Stopped. Whole show is great -- with 6/15, it would make a great release. Both shows were in the recent Betty Board retrieval.

Oh - it's not that bad --- any way A-Man needs the 17 pages to think of new sub-topic-tag for eleventh Dead topic thread -- though it should be easy for eleven.

Silberman is a smart cookie - maybe he figured out some Dead portal to the future... Bar-Lev said that Silberman was one of his best and most interesting interviews - he went to his place to talk to him for a bit and ended staying hours. A lot of it was left on the cutting room floor - not guessing you gonna search out the Easter Egg for the extra footage if the DVD is released... Anyway I am with you jff --- don't really understand any of this hostility (perhaps too strong of a word) -- the film had holes. Bar-Lev has said as much.

Yeah - I thought the film was way too focused on Garcia. Bar-Lev should have made two doc's - one on Garcia and the other on the Grateful Dead. I do think one can hate cameras and mug for them at the same time, though.

Started watching this on a whim - on episode 4 - agree, good stuff.

Cool - my library system has both.

Guess it would be cool to take pic's during the eclipse show, too.
-
The below fest seems up your alley tinnitus photography -- I will be heading down to the area for the eclipse with the family - but not heading to the fest. The whole Ozzy starting his show at the start of the eclipse with Bark at the Moon, sounds like it would be a hoot. https://www.moonstock2017.com/ Also, for kicks, I am reading the below book -- very light on the actual music of Sabbath - which is disappointing - but for a rock bio, it's an ok read. Also read that Bruce Dickinson has an auto-bio coming out soon, too.

Yep, thanks - never heard of it - looks like it's YouTube - need to check it out.

Where was that REM footage taken from?
-
I guess so - glad they are looking out for us.

I don't get the whole 'private trading circles' mentality. That 3/21/75 show is a great show. The 'No Quarter', especially.

Wow! Phish announce a 13 show run at MSG for this summer!

Came across the below on another website - I imagine it is accurate - pretty amazing. -
Been listening to Dylan's Standard releases again for a bit and I just threw on Moonlight from Love and Theft --- fit's right in. Great tune - Moonlight.

This latest one $350 -- crazy. It does look pretty cool, though. http://ledzepnews.com/2017/08/02/led-zeppelin-deus-ex-machina-bootleg-empress-valley-seattle/ Their reasoning for pulling the torrent -- 'Robin hood' effect - Almost as soon as the set was released it was dropped on to sharing sites despite the label imploring people not to share lest the ‘robin hood’ effect takes away from the explosion of hubris that the label wanted from this release. How this immediate leak affects future releases, we’ll wait and see .. not to mention the sticker on it.

Listening to the recently release boot of 3/21/75 -- sounds pretty good. Haven't listened to a Zeppelin boot in while. Guess Dime pulled the original seed - at the request of the uploader, due to bootleg company complaining that it was uploaded so soon--- a bootleg company complaining about a torrent - that's rich. They did decent job with the sound, though. I have only bought one bootleg record and that was in about 1984 or so - I was 12 and spent $20 on Stones 81 show, which turned out to be a pretty crappy sounding audience recording - of course, I couldn't return it to the record st

Ha! - you got that right - put a white suit on him and he could pass as Dlyan at the Isle of Wight.

Watched tonights (Friday) webcast - it was definitely interesting - thought they played great. -
Politicians are politicians - commend them when they do something you support and condemn them when they don't. I would leave any legacy talk of any politician to about 20 years after they are out of office. So kudos to the three R's that voted 'no' last night.
