  1. Is there a link to this site, yet? I guess I have been following any of this. Is it the neilyoungarchives.com site? (his site has always bugged me - too cumbersome. Thrasher Wheat isn't any better)
  2. What's up with this 'new streaming deal'?
  3. Read that he is doing a webcast tomorrow.
  4. Sure, both of them - too. Steve is probably my favorite character on the show.
  5. I am sucker for Winona - every role of hers deserves an award... I do think her performance in Season 2 was pretty great, though.
  6. That's been Winona's M.O. since Lucas --- I thought she stepped it up in Season 2 - perhaps because she seemed to have a larger role, this season. Bet she will get an Emmy nod.
  7. Must admit - the "poor man' s Don King" is a good line --- all unbelievably ridiculous though... I guess it isn't unbelievable - which in itself unbelievable.
  8. Haven't watched this in the a long while - great performance (Rolling Stones with Angus and Malcolm - (SARSfest, Toronto Rocks, 2003) ( I would be remiss if I didn't write "Charlie's good tonight, ain't he?" - man, does he kill on this) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hstVYSDwCfs&app=desktop
  9. Esp.,- since it more than likely be the same exact show, since she is using backing tracks, etc. --- I would see her any chance I would get, too. My wife and I will be at the Chicago show in Jan. I have a show from this tour (a live webcast that she did) on my hard drive - but we opted not to watch it, yet. My friend saw her last night in St. Louis - haven't heard how it went, though.
  10. Compared to last year when I saw CRB at the same place (Thalia Hall) - this past weekend it did seem that the band had a bit of a chip on the shoulder - esp Casal -- I always enjoyed his playing, but this weekend -he was playing with much more emotion - taking center stage - doing the typical rock star guitarist stuff - which was great. Perhaps this is how he normally plays - but I don't I don't remember him playing like it last fall when I saw them. Not sure if this has any correlation with Magpie - but if it does - I hope it continues. A healthy competition is never a bad thing. I did ta
  11. Saw the Chris Robinson Brotherhood again last night. It was another great show. Tight vocals. Adam was in the mix well and he didn't over play. Casal played a lot more Telecaster - more than I expected and he was great through out - real great. Chris was pretty much on, too. His rhythm guitar playing still doesn't really add anything, but he doesn't get in the way, either. I would definitely catch them.
  12. Chris Robinson Brotherhood at Thalia Hall - Chicago
  13. Him and Keith were my favorite guitarist when I was kid. I wore out my sister's AC/DC 8-tracks.
  14. Ha! I was just listening to that on the way home from work.
  15. More than likely, I am heading down to St. Louis to catch them.
  16. Let us know how that McLaughlin/Herring show is - if you don't mind... I didn't hear about the tour until recently and the two Chicago dates are sold out. Sounds like a great show. I know I am beating dead horse here - but if I only listened and watched a webcast of Dead & Co. - I may feel the same way, but actually going to a show is a whole different thing for me - with this band. The whole vibe is pretty great and the music is a big part of it. It's weird, I guess. It does suck that prices for tickets for this Fall tour are a bit expensive - but so it goes.
  17. Yeah - I am kinda surprised that it isn't sold out -- on paper, the band that he is bringing, doesn't motivate me to go. I noticed a few weeks ago he added Eric Krasno and Karl Denson to the bill.
  18. Well double fuck - didn't hear anything about this show until now. Crap. Speaking of the Riv - Phil is playing there tomorrow and Thursday. Tickets still available for both nights.
  19. Technically that line came from Patti Smith.
  20. Stick with Ozark - I think it got better as it went along. We will be watching the last episode of Stranger Things 2 tonight - another great season, thus far.
  21. Very nice, indeed. Still need to catch these guys play at some point.
  22. I guess I didn't think the whole anti-Trey/Phish was still a thing. I heard the rumbling prior to the FTW shows, but not since. Can't say I have seen any 'Anybody but Trey' shirts floating around the lots, either. (Though I don't follow any this too closely)
  23. It helps that my wife likes Mayer --- though she never was really a fan of him prior to the Dead and Co. thing. He doesn't bug me and I think his playing is good and at times great. He definitely brings something different- for better or worse - than the above guitars mentioned. I never been a fan of the whole 'clone' idea. I just never gotten it - If I want to listen to somebody play like Garcia - I will just put on a tape - like this morning 11/14/72 has been playing. I listened to each of the shows that I attended once - mostly because I wanted to hear how the taper did. I probably wo
  24. Maybe because Phil isn't around, so they can have fun ( i kid - kind of). I agree that Oteil and Mayer bring a lot more energy to the table and that energy is definitely felt at the shows - at least during the shows that I was at. It definitely feels like an actual band again, rather than musicians just sitting in with the rest of the Grateful Dead dudes (or dude).
