  1. Yeah - like I said I was wrong. I haven't talk to anybody of my friends to see they grabbed tickets.
  2. Tried for single for one of the shows in Chicago and nothing -- crazy. Maybe it is because Phil couldn't sell out the Riv either of the nights last month - but I didn't think it would be such a huge draw - definitely was wrong about that. (Or everybody really just wants to see Weir) I don't the remember the last time I got shut out of a show when I got on the TM site at 10am. Guessing they will do a webcast.
  3. Looks someone uploaded their tape of the Chicago show in the Future Age section - I haven't listened to, nor downloaded it. http://viachicago.org/topic/52733-jeff-tweedy-meets-chikamorachi-the-hideout/
  4. I signed up for it, but I got email earlier stating that I was put on a wait-list. Honestly, I didn't think the demand would be that high - I guess it is good for the two that it is. Onto 12/14/80 - another decent show. Great Loser - the drums/space has been great during this run, too -----.Drums/Space with Airto Moriera and Flora Purim - really cool stuff.
  5. Never heard of it - had to look up the connection. Looks good.
  6. I watched Dire Straits' Alchemy DVD for the 1st time this past year - really enjoyed it. Probably should check it out from the library again.
  7. I remember my siblings having the first one and Panorama during that time - but it must have never grabbed me.
  8. Yeah - I knew there was connection - but I always forget. Definitely hear it now - via Lammy's post. Pretty pronounced.
  9. Had to look - 99 for me - the only time I ventured down to Deer Creek, Indiana to catch a show. It was a good one - Dreams was a stand out. When I saw them the next summer, Herring had already replaced Betts. 1. True Gravity 2. Ain't Wastin' Time No More 3. You Don't Love Me 4. Good Times (Don't Fade Away) 5. Southbound 6. Midnight Rider 7. Good Clean Fun 8. Blue Sky Set II: Acoustic: 9. Seven Turns 10. Melissa Electric: 11. J.J.'s Alley 12. Dreams 13. Trouble No More 14. End Of The Line 15. Back Where It All Begins 16. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed Encore: 17. No One To Run With
  10. I did always like that cartoon/computer generated video that the Cars put out.
  11. Not familiar enough to that Donovan tune - so I didn't catch it - need to re-listen. Now onto 12/13/80 -- another good one - looks like I need to revisit 12/80, seems like they were playing well.
  12. Well I do like listening to Dire Straits from time to time... from CNN
  13. That's exactly what my wife said when she read it to me, last night --- the hyphen mainly gives it away.
  14. Yeah - never saw a solo Betts show -- if he passes through Chicago - I may catch it. It has been a long, long while since I seen him play.
  15. The Thoughts on the Dead blog had a funny post about the Phil and Bobby tour. http://thoughtsonthedead.com/marching-two-by-two/
  16. Ha! I was hoping that tickets were not going to be too pricey. $79.50 - $159.50 for the Chicago shows - that is a bit of a bummer. Listening to 12/12/80 show this a.m. - don't think I ever listened to this one before - pretty hot show.
  17. It is pretty cool that Bobby is able to keep a toe in each pond. Definitely will try for Chicago show. https://www.relix.com/news/detail/bob_weir_and_phil_lesh_announce_first_ever_duo_tour_in_2018
  18. Thanks - looks like I should have ventured out.
  19. Watched Logan Lucky last night - we definitely enjoyed it, too. Great cast. Definitely sets itself up nicely for a squeal.
  20. It's politics -- it's the same reason that most D's didn't go after Clinton and others. Politics is about the end game - it may mean supporting an accused 'sexual predator' to get there or to force Franken to resign because it is politically conducive to do so - same with the Conyers' resignation. We'll see how it plays out in 2018. I use to be one who supported the who one best served my views - if that person has a better chance of getting to where I think the country should go - I would be with him or her, no matter what their flaws may be - I think I may be changing my perspective on
  21. Enjoy - was hoping to catch it, but it ain't gonna happen. I still haven't seen a show at Elastic's new location and they move back in early 2015. Let us know how the show was - if you don't mind.
  22. Found the below via Politico --- guessing the R's knew that Franken will call the R's out as he fell on his own sword. Franken's career and Minnesota will be fine. As KevinG said, Keith Ellison would be a great replacement. Regarding Franken's resignation speech.
  23. It is a great set - the band sounds great and Dylan never sang better. I haven't gotten through the whole DVD that came with the set yet - Michael Shannon recites the sermons that Dylan gave throughout the tour - found it a bit weird.
  24. Who's fighting and what for?! Always enjoyed the footage from Muscle Shoals -- wish they would have made a whole documentary of those sessions. Stones hanging in Alabama in 1969 - what a concept. I didn't realize the sessions were so close to the Altamont dates. From hanging in Alabama (and two days later) to Altamont - only in America. Listening to 12/6/73 tonight
  25. Last night , my wife was part of postcard writing campaign to get the D voters out to vote in Alabama to defeat Moore -- definitely need to keep at it with elections - with all these distractions going on - elections still matter the most. This whole Jerusalem stuff is probably going to make things a lot more hairy.
