  1. Nice Taper article on the 93 Raleigh shows http://jambandsonline.com/a-taper’s-section-night-to-remember-grateful-dead-play-chapel-hill-32493/
  2. I remember getting the Raleigh 93 boards relatively quick. I listened to them quite a bit, because they sounded good.
  3. That Deer Creek show was the first time I saw Derek Trucks play - it was his 6th (full) show - I remember thinking his playing seemed tentative.
  4. Damn that song didn't even cross my mind when I saw him - man they were a fun team. He kind of did shuffle on by - he looked good, though. [Otis Wilson] I'm mama's boy Otis, one of a kind The ladies all love me For my body and my mind I'm slick on the floor as I can be But ain't no sucker gonna get past me Some guys are jealous Of my style and class That's why some end up on their [whistle] I didn't come here lookin' for trouble I just get down to The Super Bowl Shuffle
  5. Went into a Barnes and Noble today for the 1st time in 8000 years and surprised at all the vinyl - man the prices are steep. Fun to look through the records, though. Also got to talk to Otis Wilson (former Bears linebacker) Otis: Hey, how are you're doing (as he walked by me) Me: Good - Hey Otis. First time I got to talk to a 85 Bear - he happen to be doing an in-store book signing.
  6. Lammy is gonna walk in with the wrong kind of point ears on. Probably will see it this Sunday morning -- its nice being a heathen, our go to movie going day/time is Sunday mornings, typically the 1st showtimes starts around 9:30am or 9:45am - it's cheaper and no crowds.
  7. Yeah - like I said I was wrong. I haven't talk to anybody of my friends to see they grabbed tickets.
  8. Tried for single for one of the shows in Chicago and nothing -- crazy. Maybe it is because Phil couldn't sell out the Riv either of the nights last month - but I didn't think it would be such a huge draw - definitely was wrong about that. (Or everybody really just wants to see Weir) I don't the remember the last time I got shut out of a show when I got on the TM site at 10am. Guessing they will do a webcast.
  9. Looks someone uploaded their tape of the Chicago show in the Future Age section - I haven't listened to, nor downloaded it. http://viachicago.org/topic/52733-jeff-tweedy-meets-chikamorachi-the-hideout/
  10. I signed up for it, but I got email earlier stating that I was put on a wait-list. Honestly, I didn't think the demand would be that high - I guess it is good for the two that it is. Onto 12/14/80 - another decent show. Great Loser - the drums/space has been great during this run, too -----.Drums/Space with Airto Moriera and Flora Purim - really cool stuff.
  11. Never heard of it - had to look up the connection. Looks good.
  12. I watched Dire Straits' Alchemy DVD for the 1st time this past year - really enjoyed it. Probably should check it out from the library again.
  13. I remember my siblings having the first one and Panorama during that time - but it must have never grabbed me.
  14. Yeah - I knew there was connection - but I always forget. Definitely hear it now - via Lammy's post. Pretty pronounced.
  15. Had to look - 99 for me - the only time I ventured down to Deer Creek, Indiana to catch a show. It was a good one - Dreams was a stand out. When I saw them the next summer, Herring had already replaced Betts. 1. True Gravity 2. Ain't Wastin' Time No More 3. You Don't Love Me 4. Good Times (Don't Fade Away) 5. Southbound 6. Midnight Rider 7. Good Clean Fun 8. Blue Sky Set II: Acoustic: 9. Seven Turns 10. Melissa Electric: 11. J.J.'s Alley 12. Dreams 13. Trouble No More 14. End Of The Line 15. Back Where It All Begins 16. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed Encore: 17. No One To Run With
  16. I did always like that cartoon/computer generated video that the Cars put out.
  17. Not familiar enough to that Donovan tune - so I didn't catch it - need to re-listen. Now onto 12/13/80 -- another good one - looks like I need to revisit 12/80, seems like they were playing well.
  18. Well I do like listening to Dire Straits from time to time... from CNN
  19. That's exactly what my wife said when she read it to me, last night --- the hyphen mainly gives it away.
  20. Yeah - never saw a solo Betts show -- if he passes through Chicago - I may catch it. It has been a long, long while since I seen him play.
  21. The Thoughts on the Dead blog had a funny post about the Phil and Bobby tour. http://thoughtsonthedead.com/marching-two-by-two/
  22. Ha! I was hoping that tickets were not going to be too pricey. $79.50 - $159.50 for the Chicago shows - that is a bit of a bummer. Listening to 12/12/80 show this a.m. - don't think I ever listened to this one before - pretty hot show.
  23. It is pretty cool that Bobby is able to keep a toe in each pond. Definitely will try for Chicago show. https://www.relix.com/news/detail/bob_weir_and_phil_lesh_announce_first_ever_duo_tour_in_2018
  24. Thanks - looks like I should have ventured out.
  25. Watched Logan Lucky last night - we definitely enjoyed it, too. Great cast. Definitely sets itself up nicely for a squeal.
