45:13 minutes on the reissue. My friend had the original release, so I never gotten around to buy it, since we always listened to it when we were at his place.
-
Weir seemed to be feeling it that night - yikes. Never heard him sound like that.
-
Yes, the reissue has the Ludlow set and Idlewild in 5.1. All the reissues sound great. (Fillmore East / Brothers and Sisters / Idlewild) I do have the Stonybrook show - definitely will be listening to tonight. When suites mentioned the Blue Sky, I remembered the show. Haven't listened to it in awhile.

This one -- I think I do have it on my hard drive -- need to check when I get home. S.U.N.Y. at Stonybrook (9/19/71) : Stonybrook, NY

Usually the only good thing that comes out of musician' deaths is the usual flood of torrents that follow --- of course we won't be getting those. Definitely will be playing some Allmans tonight. Last week I listened to Idlewild South reissue, again. (read through some of this thread today - man some people got cranky -- lot's of 'bags of' stuff...)

Yeah - I read it on the Hoffman board earlier this morning and was waiting to get confirmation. Hopefully it's not true. Doing a quick search this morning to find out anything on his death, I came across the below interview. Didn't realize he had a place in France. http://www.cltampa.com/music/interviews/article/20847834/qa-butch-trucks-talks-trump-gaga-and-paris-before-nye-show-in-clearwater

KIDZ Bop has ruined my kids... My two kids went - their best part of the day was the train ride and playing at Maggie Daley Park. The 7 year had a basic understanding why we marched and understood it. The 5 year old not so much. They both got a kick out of the signs that people had.

Yeah - Phil looked like he as battling a cold of Friday.

Below is a link to last night's Phil/CRB sets --- Neal Casal sang lead on some the American Beauty tunes, which kinda of surprised me. Realy liked his take on Sugar Magnolia. Kinda wish the other guitarist wan't there - he was kinda of a one trick pony - guess he is Phil's tour manager. http://www.jambands.com/news/2017/01/21/phil-lesh-kicks-off-brooklyn-bowl-las-vegas-run-with-complete-performances-of-workingman-s-dead-and-american-beauty

Not to mention the whole speech at the CIA, where he said the press created the whole Trump bashing the US intelligence community. Of course he brought up the inauguration attendance there, too. But the below was the most chilling spot of the whole CIA speech. Are we going to war with Iraq next week? His supporters will still continue to believe what he says and think that the media is 'out to get him; - but with the shear numbers out today - it won't last. Of course the opposition has to keep up the momentum that was started today. I think we will.

We were there - got down there around 9am --- kid's got restless and we caught the 1:30 train back home. Great, friendly crowd. It was rather amazing that the march was actually called off during the rally, due to the amount of people. There were so many people - we filled the entire intended route, so we had no where to march to - which was rather amazing. Props to the city to reroute the parade mid-stream and marched we did. Chicago PD definitely has their issues -- but they know how to throw down a protest/rally/march as peacefully as possible. They definitely were observers today - all

Don't forget Satisfaction and It's all Over Now (yeah, it's a Womack tune).
-
I finally gotten around to listen the entire Trigger Hippy record, via Spotify -- a real solid record. Never been a huge fan of Jackie Greene.
-
Probably.

Obviously, when the Dead's involvement with Altamont is discussed - only stipulation/point of direction that Scorsese probably gave to Amir Bar-Lev.
-
Chicago - will be taking our two kids, too. Due to the amount of people that they are now expecting - the march route has considerably shorten. Some are complaining about the shorten route, which seems strange to me. There is still going to be a rally and a march.

Politico did a good job of tallying all the Trump's 'untruths' since he won the election. Nice touch adding the cut off deadline: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/01/trumps-transition-of-untruths-exaggerations-and-flat-out-falsehoods-214664?lo=ap_b1

"Can you at least stop playing Rolling Stones music at any of your functions?" and "Please don't get us all killed" Ugh. (Sorry that's two -- so I will go with the 1st one)

Happy that Raines made it in. Always enjoyed watching him play.

Kicking around the idea of buying the Friday webstream -- figure it might be nice way to end a horrible day.
-
Man, never realized the Beck sampled that rift.

^ Awesome news.

What are your Plans for Inauguration Day?
calvino replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
More than likely we will be up there, too. We will train in and probably just watch, not sure I want to march with 5 and 7 yr. old, in case there are some issues. But I would like them to see the process. Never had a White Russian, but Friday sounds like a great time to try one... -
Agreed - horrible mix. Great tunes, though.
