Didn't realize that another theatre was renovated. That's cool. Plus, it is right off the Metra Van Buren Electric line to boot.

Much prefer driving to Alpine, too. We will be able to train it up to Wrigley, but would rather camp and hang out up in Alpine.

Just listened to Hair of the Dog via Spotify today at work - never realized that Love Hurts was a Everly Brother's tune.
-
Was kinda surprised Greg Kot didn't even mention the record in his 'best of list' in Sunday's Tribune paper. Not even a honorable mentioned. Typically he throws them a bone, at least.

That's good one - me too. Same with Green Manaleshi.

A crap load from the Stones. 60's blues/R&B covers through Just My Imagination.
-
That's what I thought - but I couldn't remember.

Is Nels living in New York City, now-a-days?

At first I thought you were serious, then I started to hum a tune and chuckled. -
Warren and Allen Woody were in the Allman Brothers Band for good few years by 94, so they had a constant money source by then. Record company may have chipped in, too.

Ticket costs is why we are just catching one night in Chicago. Think this will be the first time that we are not catching a whole Chicago run. Which is fine.

So far I have only listened to about 4 shows from the recent 66 tour box -- sound is decent -- the audience recording that I heard, leaves a lot to be desired, but it was cool to hear the audience laughing at some of the new style of lyrics. From the audience recording, It seemed that audience was definitely digging the new tunes. It definitely will take awhile to get all the way through the set.

I was trying to avoid to ever see a show at Wrigley -- but my wife and friends are already game for it. So we shall see. I don't find anything generic about Mayer's guitar playing -- though, his voice can grate on my nerves a bit. Maybe he over plays a bit, but he has seemed to reign that in a bit, too. I would have no problem with Oteil being louder in the mix.

Probably will catch the show in Chicago Show -- it's a Saturday and at a great venue. I think my wife is done seeing Son Volt, though, I had to keep nudging her to keep her awake the last time.

More 79 -- 11/25/79. Fun, rockin' 2nd set. Shakedown > Bertha opening set 2 is pretty great. https://archive.org/details/gd1979-11-25.sbd.miller.84489.flac16

A "6 Pack" First Set

Just found out that my in-laws may be going the grab bag route this Xmas -- my 4 year subscription run may be coming to an end, barring a Xmas miracle. This may be the first thing that I am blaming Trump on....Damn him. 21 does look good.

Pulled 2 decent balcony tickets for Saturday. Happy with just one show this go around. As someone mentioned - it will be weird not standing in line this year. Not to mention, it will be a train ride for me this go around too, which is a good thing. That being all said, I do enjoy going to those Riv shows.

Great stuff. (that Cy Young footage). That's some juxtaposition between that family footage and Kate's tweet.

Maybe Wilco is touring with a stylist this tour. Next up a choreographer for the theater district' Chicago shows in February. -
The new one looks like it should be a good one or at least an interesting one. from Son Volt's Website:

"its good to be here. It's good to be anywhere." Ha! - That's a Keith Richards' line. Keith has, at times, braids his hair, too. Next their exit music at shows is going to be You Can't Always Get What You Want... Thanks for reviews --- nice to hear yours and Wilco's perspective from overseas during the election aftermath. -
Just watched Ep. 2. Still good stuff. Reading the 66 Beatles book, now - perfect timing watching this episode, just finished the chapter about Lennon wanting to swing from the ceiling. Betty show info - it will be Ep. 8 (saving the best for last, I guess) http://liveforlivemusic.com/news/grateful-dead-betty-cantor-jackson-featured-upcoming-soundbreakers-episode/

I am watching it on Roku PBS Channel on demand channel - it doesn't come on until 10pm in Chicago.

Just watched the 1st episode - good stuff, thus far.
