The Jazz Record Mart in Chicago has closed and reopened quite a few times over the years - due to raising rents and such.

Nice article, too. Sadly, "Purple Rain" is starting to set up camp with "Hey Jude" - another tune I don't need to ever hear performed live again. I do like Yoakam's version, because he doesn't go on and on and on and on with the outro refrain.

Can we just start a new thread for this anthem business? The U.S. Constitution covered this. Hoping that Senator Clinton gets well soon and gets right back in there and speaks to the people on how she will try to encourage a political/social/economical climate where we all will prosper (as much as possible) and be safe. She needs not to speak of the Trump name, until the debates; including the commercials - fuck him and everyone against her; she really needs to start reaching out to people who are leaning towards her. She has been focusing too much on Trump and not reaching out more to th

I was going to mention the same thing -- all that money the NFL makes and we (taxpayers) have to pay for them for this -- pretty crazy.

How do you listen to your music during the day?

That great --- I have a few JGB tapes at work that I throw in every now and then - mostly Archive.org, Dylanradio, XM, or Spotify at work. -

Guess, I need to listen to that version, then -- I skipped it yesterday. -
Must of heard the number 274 about 274 times today.

I always loved the original. The above was pretty interesting, too.

Did you (or anyone) ever see a show at the Wetlands. Watch a documentary on the place earlier this year and it looked like it would have been a cool place to see a show.

Plus, Trey did that whole Surrender to the Air record

Just pulled a ticket to see Weir at the Chicago Theater. Should be interesting to see him perform with the National guys - not really familiar with them at all, though I did see them play at a Lolla - I think.

Yeah - they started to cover the Grateful Dead and now Tupelo - they must be running out of 'cool' bands.

Happen to come across the below in a Son Volt forum. http://pitchfork.com/thepitch/1238-7-times-uncle-tupelo-predicted-this-political-mess-were-in/ I am not Twitter, but I guess Tweedy's response was the below.

Nice so far - new song now.

My kid asked why he keeps saying "Number 9" - I was going to fast forward it, but he said no.

I have always been a sucker for "positively unemployed".

Maybe it's the hair and the beard -- though I was just thinking yesterday that he actually looks good for his age and his lifestyle. He had those issues a couple years back - so I am not all sure how 'clean' he actually was up to recently. I think he is still sounds great and plays great, too -- sure the tempo's bug me a bit - but he played great last month when I saw him at Alpine. (Loved watching Sparky in the dugout and field, man, he was great.)
