Nice so far - new song now.

My kid asked why he keeps saying "Number 9" - I was going to fast forward it, but he said no.

I have always been a sucker for "positively unemployed".

Maybe it's the hair and the beard -- though I was just thinking yesterday that he actually looks good for his age and his lifestyle. He had those issues a couple years back - so I am not all sure how 'clean' he actually was up to recently. I think he is still sounds great and plays great, too -- sure the tempo's bug me a bit - but he played great last month when I saw him at Alpine. (Loved watching Sparky in the dugout and field, man, he was great.)

Weir stopped by XM studio with Gary Lambert to talk about his upcoming "Campfire" tour - wish it was passing through Chicago - anyway Lambert has always been talking up Wilco over years. Sorry for the big pic.

I read Jarnow's book and don't remember him mentioning the internet crashing on 8/9/95 -- though that doesn't mean it was not in the book. Really interesting and informative book, but his writing bugged me.

I didn't even have access to the internet in 95, unless I went to a library. Of course, in '95 I was still living at my p's house (I was on college summer break) - they still don't have internet.

If it was any other year - I may have issues voting for Clinton. As long as she isn't in the pokey or indicted, she will get my vote. I can't take a chance to vote for a third party, because a third party doesn't have a chance of winning - unfortunately it is between Trump and Clinton. I don't think Clinton has done any illegal -- unethical, definitively. And she definitely has used poor judgement when comes to the whole server thing.

Is it a Garcia tie, at least? I have a couple of his ties - Looks like they are on sale at Kohl's --- cashing in on his death, I guess. Man the one's on sale are pretty ugly.

Not sure if they streamed the 2nd night. -
Yeah - my wife told me that yesterday or the day before and honestly all I could do was chuckle and shake my head... Nice swim relay last night - pretty exiting.

Noticed that they are playing at Constellation (Chicago) on August 13th - interesting venue choice - it's mostly Jazz club.

McInerney was on NPR's "Fresh Air" this week - it was nice interview.

Yeah - it 's been quite the week -- I wonder if or when the well will dry up. Anybody know who the 'anonymous source' may be?

There were issues with super delegates in 08, too. It would behoove the Democrats to tweak it a bit. The major problem this go around was Wasserman Schultz and how she ran things. She was working so closely with Clinton in the past, that the Democrats should have had a more impartial person in that position, going into the primaries. Plus, I don't think the Party really thought Clinton was going to have any real challenge - so they didn't give any thought in having Schultz in the position - which is a problem in itself. The email and voice mail leaks didn't help matters, but the leaks only

Thanks - the set-list looks great. I thought XM was going to air it live - but they must have just taped it and are going to broadcast it a few times this week. I see that there was a 'drums' section in the 2nd Set -- what was that like? I am assuming the symphony had a percussion section up on stage, in addition to Sipe.

I thought Sanders did pursue the super-delegates issue -- he accepted this election's results, but the Democratic party is going to change some things, at least I thought I remember hearing about some changes that will happen in the future.

The link isn't working, KevinG. Yeah the fear of Trump supporters is not unfounded --- usually politicians temper their fervent supporters (like McCain did in 08). Trump has only been stoking it.
-
Definitely would like read your thoughts on the show --- I think XM is broadcasting it - hopefully I can tune in. Melvin was on the XM Tales (talk) show yesterday and Gans/Lambert talked to him about tonight's show.

Yes about the Strat.

Thoughts on the Democratic National Convention

Last night my wife reminded me of the PUMA's who supported Clinton in 08. I forgot all about them. I do wonder how I would have reacted if Obama would have lost in the '08 primery - the wife and I were involved in the campaign, etc --- I don't remember ever thinking that I wouldn't vote for Clinton, though. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/they-were-hillary-clintons-die-hard-loyalists-heres-where-they-are-now/2015/05/02/82025cf2-e92a-11e4-aae1-d642717d8afa_story.html -
Where does the Alligator fit in --- by far my favorite. Then probably when he was playing a SG in 69. Wolf is up there, too. Though I guess the Alligator and SG were not specifically made for Garcia - which I think was what you going for.

Great night last night. They should have put Kaine on Tuesday night or even tonight - he was a bit out classed last night - though Kaine didn't too bad. Bloomberg was effective, too. If I was the DNC, I probably would not have put Leon Panetta on stage - of course he was going to get the wrath of Sanders supporters, but I would guess Panetta knew that going in -- it was an awkward speech and not very effective. I don't think DNC needed him to go on stage to talk about Trump's lack of foreign policy at all - I think we all get it, already.
