  1. McInerney was on NPR's "Fresh Air" this week - it was nice interview.
  2. Thanks for the heads up -- looking forward to this release - looks interesting. http://www.wsj.com/articles/wilcos-nels-cline-channels-henry-mancini-in-an-offbeat-jazz-album-1470153173
  3. Yeah - it 's been quite the week -- I wonder if or when the well will dry up. Anybody know who the 'anonymous source' may be?
  4. There were issues with super delegates in 08, too. It would behoove the Democrats to tweak it a bit. The major problem this go around was Wasserman Schultz and how she ran things. She was working so closely with Clinton in the past, that the Democrats should have had a more impartial person in that position, going into the primaries. Plus, I don't think the Party really thought Clinton was going to have any real challenge - so they didn't give any thought in having Schultz in the position - which is a problem in itself. The email and voice mail leaks didn't help matters, but the leaks only
  5. Thanks - the set-list looks great. I thought XM was going to air it live - but they must have just taped it and are going to broadcast it a few times this week. I see that there was a 'drums' section in the 2nd Set -- what was that like? I am assuming the symphony had a percussion section up on stage, in addition to Sipe.
  6. I thought Sanders did pursue the super-delegates issue -- he accepted this election's results, but the Democratic party is going to change some things, at least I thought I remember hearing about some changes that will happen in the future.
  7. The link isn't working, KevinG. Yeah the fear of Trump supporters is not unfounded --- usually politicians temper their fervent supporters (like McCain did in 08). Trump has only been stoking it.
  8. Definitely would like read your thoughts on the show --- I think XM is broadcasting it - hopefully I can tune in. Melvin was on the XM Tales (talk) show yesterday and Gans/Lambert talked to him about tonight's show.
  9. Last night my wife reminded me of the PUMA's who supported Clinton in 08. I forgot all about them. I do wonder how I would have reacted if Obama would have lost in the '08 primery - the wife and I were involved in the campaign, etc --- I don't remember ever thinking that I wouldn't vote for Clinton, though. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/they-were-hillary-clintons-die-hard-loyalists-heres-where-they-are-now/2015/05/02/82025cf2-e92a-11e4-aae1-d642717d8afa_story.html
  10. Where does the Alligator fit in --- by far my favorite. Then probably when he was playing a SG in 69. Wolf is up there, too. Though I guess the Alligator and SG were not specifically made for Garcia - which I think was what you going for.
  11. Great night last night. They should have put Kaine on Tuesday night or even tonight - he was a bit out classed last night - though Kaine didn't too bad. Bloomberg was effective, too. If I was the DNC, I probably would not have put Leon Panetta on stage - of course he was going to get the wrath of Sanders supporters, but I would guess Panetta knew that going in -- it was an awkward speech and not very effective. I don't think DNC needed him to go on stage to talk about Trump's lack of foreign policy at all - I think we all get it, already.
  12. Very true and she should hold a press conference or two - but she has answered plenty from the Congress --- maybe Trump can get in front of a Judge and answer some questions.
  13. I think this will all change in the general election. Of course, the press/news makes their money with ratings and Trump is great for business. Hopefully the press will pivot in the general and start pressing for truth (on both sides) - the ratings will be there regardless. Of course Trump supporters - for the most part, I would guess - does not even follow the regular network news - so it doesn't matter what 'mainstream' news says. Some Sanders's supporters are in the same boat. Ted Koppel'a interview with Trump was pretty good --- Koppel was dismissive at times, but I think Trump des
  14. I would have thought there would have been some sort of reaction from within the hall once Clinton surpassed the magic number, though. It may be typical though --- the whole not showing the tally from within the hall, I don't know.
  15. Yeah -- i meant on the actual hall screens -- so the people in the actual hall, unless they were paying attention via phones or jotting down the numbers - didn't know.
  16. I want to say that Hillary did have the magic number when they got to Vermont - but I can be wrong about that , though I did watch the roll call yesterday -- it was interesting that the DNC did not show the actual tally in the hall during the roll call. I am sure Sanders stipulated that he wanted all the States to do their thing, prior to him declaring an end -- which is probably the right thing to do, anyway. Good point about Clinton in 2008 - I forgot that she squashed it when it got to New York. (just checked - South Dakota put Clinton over the top - so she did have enough, prior to V
  17. This past weekend, I thought Ted Koppel did a decent job interviewing Trump -- the interview aired on CBS Sunday Morning. Agreed the press needs to step up.
  18. Agree about Banks - horrible job. Did you ever find out who's in the house band, jff -- or is the music canned -- I never noticed a band playing, but they may be off or near-off stage.
  19. Different, for obvious reasons, but he did good job. Hillary Clinton's little talk was odd - not sure if the music was suppose to stop, but it was distracting. I am sure they will get some flack for the theatrics. Nice touch for Sanders to declare an end to the delegate vote - just like Hillary Clinton did in 2008. Also nice touch that a childhood friend of hers announced her Illinois' delegate count.
  20. Yeah, I was watching it during her speech and you can tell she was getting a little peeved - I was waiting for her to say something. I can see why Warren was not picked as a VP mate -- I am in step with her are far as policy goes - but she's no Kaine on the stump; of course all the dumb heckling probably didn't help her. A missed opportunity for her. Sanders and Michelle Obama were definitely the highlights. Hopefully the Sanders' crowd got it all out their system yesterday -- I am sure some of it will roll over to today's delegate roll call - as it should - but than after that, hopefull
