Indeed about the Cure show -- catching one of their Chicago shows - stoked!
-
I was a little disappointed with last night's show --- the performance was great --- but I kept thinking that the show would have sounded and looked better if I was watching it at my home system. It could have been just the the theater that I was at, though I have seen movies there before and they always sounded good.
-
Yeah, the Rangers did good - after last night's lost, I was hoping the White Sox would pull this one out. Hopefully, Frazier is not too banged up - 5 stitches, I guess.

A great interview with Mavis Staples about her upcoming tour with Dylan. I am not a big fan of the Chicago area venue that they are playing - so I will be skipping the show. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/mavis-staples-on-summer-tour-with-bob-dylan-its-really-an-honor-20160509?page=4

Comes a Time is really jumping out on the latest Dave's Pick. The Johnny B Goode was actually pretty good, too. So far it's pretty good, I think. I don't listen to 76 all that often, though.

I had to look that up - Steelers - learn something everyday.

I was in 6th grade when We're Not Gonna Take It broke - perfect song for kids who thought everyone was against them - plus the video funny and great as hell.
-
I need to watch that - they were a fun back in the day when I was in grade school. Dee is a pretty interesting guy.
-
Yeah - after seeing them in 94, I was going to skip them when they came through Chicago in 95. A friend had an extra for the 2nd night in Chicago, so I went. Listening to the Seattle show now - a six song first set, I think we were calling that a 'six pack first set' back then. Definitely a nice Fire.

Watched most of the Roxy DVD yesterday - definitely great playing, but must admit it didn't hold my interest. I thought it was shot great, though. It did make me sad seeing Frank smoke all those cigarettes and I never saw a bass player keep a lit cigar in his mouth for a whole show before. Franks lyrics tend to bore me after a while - his guitar playing never does, though.

Speaking of Bear - just started the below - so far, it's far out, man.

Below is a stream of the WTTW show, that he performed on the 17th, the day before the Chicago Theater shows. I think I have the video on my hard drive, but not sure. That Dreamin' Man cd is a great one. http://www.panicstream.net/vault/neil-young-11171992-chicago-il/ Also Tim Roth's interview with Neil from the same Centerstage show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riW8yiHbFZU

Coachella plans massive classic rock concert

I can't see a Stones/Dylan collaboration not happening. At the very least Ronnie will sit in with Dylan - maybe Keith, during a standards tune. Dylan can sing an old blues tune with the Stones. Keith is a fan of the standards (at least Hoagy Carmichael type of stuff), maybe Dylan will sit in with Keith during his solo singing slot of the show, though the earth may implode with Dylan/Richards duet. -
Just got Zappa's Roxy: The Movie from the library yesterday - got the house for myself later on today for a bit and looking forward to watching it. Been watching the below on Amazon - interesting stuff.

Pitchfork has put out a nice spread. Guess we can say the Grateful Dead has officially jumped the shark. Kidding - kind of. It is cool that the youngins are coming around and they are focusing on the actual music and not only the scene. http://pitchfork.com/features/article/9888-grateful-dead-live-on-why-the-legendary-band-still-matters/ -
Curious to know if permission from Disney was needed. Nels looks pretty funny and the cat was a nice touch.

Surely, it's good beer. My sister lives up there; it's hard to convince them to visit the place, because they are Miller Lite and cocktail drinkers. I do not know one Minnesotan who is a craft beer drinker. Miller Lite, Crown Royal and Bloody Mary's seem to be their drinks of choice -- which is all perfectly fine, I guess.

I think that Dylan set is fine, but, maybe not for festival like this. So there are only going to be two bands per night - not much of a festival. I was expecting more bands scattered during the day - then again the 'probably' older crowd would not want an all day type festival. -
Haven't listened to Tempest in a while -- according the below, (a nicely written New Yorker article on Tempest): "the lovers in “Tin Angel” meet their end in a triple murder-suicide". (sorry to spoil it for anyone) http://www.newyorker.com/culture/culture-desk/older-than-that-now-dylans-tempest

Catching the Saturday Alpine Valley show.

Sounding good, Lou. Missed the beginning part, but been listening since 5:40 or so. Saw the Miles movie this morning -- it was entertaining. More of action film - which was a bit weird.

Below is a link to a Rolling Stones Music Interactive Map of London --- would love to make it that Stones exhibition that is going on in London. Only looked briefly at the map - looks pretty cool, though I a sucker for such things. http://www.musicheritageuk.org/maps/stones-in-london.html

I love and respect Steve Goodman - a lot. Was a great Chicagoan.

Horrible song. Almost as bad as "Go Cubs Go". The whole Vedder' White Sox cap may have been a dig at Seattle, too. The White Sox played the Mariners in the playoffs in 2000 - the White Sox got swept. I had a ticket to one of the playoff games, but I had to give it to my dad, since I was recovering from a hernia operation and was pretty immobile.

I thought I read that Neil stopped smoking pot... Hopefully the library system gets it at some point -- I haven't gotten around to hear "The Monsanto Years" nor any of recent boots from the tour. I heard great things about the tour and some not so great things.
