  1. Nils definitely ripped on that solo. Good stuff.
  2. Sure, horrible base-running - but last year the White Sox would have managed to blow the play, somehow. And Farmer is great.
  3. It's fun being a Chicago baseball fan now-a-days. Last year the White Sox would have been lucky to get one out... "That was fire drill - the house was ablaze and now it's no longer burning" - Ed Farmer - White Sox radio guy - perfect. http://m.mlb.com/cws...-play/?c_id=cws Go White Sox!
  4. http://www.thecurrent.org/listen KCMP, 89.3 The Current, Minnesota Public Radio is putting on a nice tribute, currently.
  5. I believe, Ronnie Wood finally became a full fledged member around 94 or so.
  6. Granted it was a crappy you-tube clip, but I thought Axl sounded alright at Coachella, while Angus was stage.
  7. Ours is still going strong - other wise I might be interested. Maybe you can bundle it up with with the Weezer disc?
  8. I guess one can throw in Hitler and cancer, too.
  9. Nothing worst than a bad drummer. Listened to Chinese Democracy for the 1st time yesterday - not too bad. A little more pop than I expected or maybe more modern. A lot of effects on Rose's vocals, it seemed.
  10. No, no it wasn't. The Parks one came out at the time my first born was born -- so I was beat tired every time it aired - perhaps I need to revisit it. Just checked, my son was 3 weeks old when it aired originally. We are finally taking him and my youngest out to CO in June to camp at Rocky National Park .
  11. I thought the one National Parks was a bit boring (and I love National Parks). The Jazz one was a bit lacking, from what I remember, too. But yeah - typically they are always interesting, well done and mostly entertaining.
  12. Ran into Leroy Bach at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago during a free family day event - he was participating in a musical event.
  13. Did Miller perform at all? I guess he was the one being inducted -- not his band. If his current band members want to play with him on stage - I guess, maybe, they have to cough up the dough. Maybe that's why it's always an "all-star" band lot's of time. The "all-stars" don't have to pay, but the actual band members who have been playing, for instance with Miller, for years and years, have to pay to get in and play. Whatever. Just read that he did play -- guessing the Keys back him up. Guess I should read before I post - looked like he did play his band. http://ultimateclassicrock.
  14. 'Nice' words by Steve Miller. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/04/09/arts/music/after-his-induction-steve-miller-rips-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame.html?smprod=nytcore-ipad&smid=nytcore-ipad-share&_r=2&referer=http://m.q1043.com/onair/jonathan-jc-clarke-1368/whoagh-steve-miller-gets-inducted-into-14586487/ It is good that Bun played with him - I read that Daxx Nielsen said he would have felt weird playing and being up there while Bun was on stage - he used an ex-wife and new girlfriend in the same room analogy.
  15. While at the Iron Maiden concert earlier in the week, I overheard a lot of talk about the G N' R reunion - people were stoked. If you don't mind me asking - how did you get a ticket - did you just get lucky, when they went on sale?
  16. Tempest is worth a listen, you might like it - it's all original material at the very least --- granted some of it might have been "borrowed". Maybe you meant to write Shadow In the Night - his first standards release.
  17. I'll grab the new one -- I listened the latest one a few times - definitely don't reach for it much, but I am glad I have it when I want to. I do like the cover of Fallen Angels. (sorry for the big pic)
  18. Yeah it is -- which was I was kinda afraid of when Sanders entered, though all the things, for the most part, that makes Clinton unqualifed (according to Sanders), the republicans would greatly support or wouldn't mind. (Though, I do realize that the republicans are going to use just the "I don't believe that she is qualified" sound bite and leave out everything else.)
  19. Never tried the Grunion - I have seen it in the stores up here, though. Sox park is going to have decent selection this year and as per usual Anheuser-Busch has a strangle hold at Wrigley. https://blu174.mail.live.com/?tid=cm-x2SK-785RGVxgAeC8tyNg2&fid=flinbox
  20. Did you make it all the way to the Atlantic? Looks like a great area.
  21. I just read that Duff might be writing a bio on Alice in Chains. Never knew there was any connection - though I don't follow either band much. Did put some Alice in Chains on hold at my library, though.
