That is correct, one can't see the stage, unless they are at the very front.
-
Wow - yeah - that's pretty steep.
-
I think it was officially billed as the below - so they could get around inviting Vince --- which is still shitty - but I guess that's music business...
-
Yeah - that was was pretty harsh not inviting him. Yesterday would have been his birthday. I remember hearing an interview with the band prior to the reunion shows and Mickey Hart being kind of flippant about it saying something like Vinnie playing with them 'wasn't in the cards' or something like that.

Heading up to the Saturday Alpine Dead & Company show this summer. Going with my wife and another couple - the other couple happens to be the sister and brother-in-law of a great friend of ours who was killed in a motorcycle wreck about 13 years ago -- never met them prior to his passing, but we became great friends with them after they had to come up to the Chicago to claim his body - it's kinda neat that we are heading up there with them, just like my wife and I use to head up there with our friend all those times --- all that time ago. Looking forward to it. The last time I was at Al

Trump's outright hatred of Jeb Bush has been interesting --- I am assuming that there was some past business thing that went sour between the two -- Trump has been outright brutal toward the Bush's.

Yeah Spotify is great for the OOP stuff, escpecially since lots of the stuff is going for a high price. I take more advantage of the Phish stuff that is on Spotify - mostly because I don't have many Phish releases.

That looks great -- haven't been to the Hideout in a long while.

I can never keep the names of the these jams straight.

I usually have Dahl on my kitchen radio during the week and I sometimes forget to turn him off a 6pm. He definitely is an interesting fellow.

I haven't listened to the Bonnie/Tortoise cd in a long while -- that version of Thunder Road is a great one.

Not to mention that President Obama was elected BY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE (twice) - that' why his statement makes zero sense. Are the American voices who voted for President Obama null and void now? Last time I check each President serves 4 years - I guess the American voices who voted for President Obama only can be heard for about 3 years and about a month or so...

It's going to be crap show with the Senate. The statement by Senator McConnell makes zero sense.

I don't think I ever heard the 10/25/79 2nd set, before tonight -- at least it wasn't on my hard drive nor do I have the tape. Downloaded it off of entree - Up to Estimated --- very, very great stuff. It's kinda amazing how fast Brent fit in. Stella Blue is pretty perfect, too - same with Passenger.

Didn't realize that McMurtry wrote so many books based on the Duane character -- I think I read Duane's Depressed, too, but I am not sure.

Usually Healy bugs me with that stuff - but I thought it sounded pretty cool in this show. The show is a bit of a mess, but fun. The Bird Song-> The Music Never Stopped-> Might As Well was pretty decent, too -- but Jerry's voice was pretty much gone by Might as Well. I don't think I ever listened to the show before. 86 is one of those years that I don't visit often.

Listening to 2.11.86 -- crazy intro into Truckin. https://archive.org/details/gd1986-02-11.mtx.seamons.117798.flac24

Both books are great, too (Picture Show and Texasville). Haven't seen Texasville, but saw the Last Picture show a long time ago. Cybil definitely was a looker.

I was impressed with the turnout for Bernie (and for Trump, too). So I would say it was a great night for both of them.

I know it way overplayed, but when I first saw the Stones in 1989, they opened up with Start Me - as a 16 year old - I thought it was the best thing ever.

Planned to go over to a neighbors for party -- though my 4 year old came down with a fever yesterday -- it will be a party time decision if we all go or just half of us -- the party is at a friends of my 6 year old house - so he has been looking forward to it for weeks -- damn little sisters... I am rooting for the Panthers, mostly because I am fan of Ron Rivera - a former Bear and an all around decent guy, from what I can gather.

That's good to know. Thx.

How was it seeing a show at Wrigley - can't imagine it sounding so good - could be wrong, though.
-
Yeah - should be interesting. One of the last times I saw Phish was when they were playing Chicago's Northerly Island and Pearl Jam was playing Wrigley the same night - a huge storm passed through Chicago, which stopped the Phish show 1 song into the 2nd set. Pearl Jam postponed there show until the storm passed and played well into the next morning, around 2am or so --- bet the neighborhood loved that. I talked to a few people at the next night's Phish show who were at the Pearl Jam show the previous night and/or earlier that morning and they all said it was a blast.

I don't think I would ever want to deal with going to a concert at Wrigley -- but I bet this will be a fun two days. In this day and age, the ticket prices look great, too from the Chicago Tribune:
