  1. Both books are great, too (Picture Show and Texasville). Haven't seen Texasville, but saw the Last Picture show a long time ago. Cybil definitely was a looker.
  2. I was impressed with the turnout for Bernie (and for Trump, too). So I would say it was a great night for both of them.
  3. I know it way overplayed, but when I first saw the Stones in 1989, they opened up with Start Me - as a 16 year old - I thought it was the best thing ever.
  4. Planned to go over to a neighbors for party -- though my 4 year old came down with a fever yesterday -- it will be a party time decision if we all go or just half of us -- the party is at a friends of my 6 year old house - so he has been looking forward to it for weeks -- damn little sisters... I am rooting for the Panthers, mostly because I am fan of Ron Rivera - a former Bear and an all around decent guy, from what I can gather.
  5. How was it seeing a show at Wrigley - can't imagine it sounding so good - could be wrong, though.
  6. Yeah - should be interesting. One of the last times I saw Phish was when they were playing Chicago's Northerly Island and Pearl Jam was playing Wrigley the same night - a huge storm passed through Chicago, which stopped the Phish show 1 song into the 2nd set. Pearl Jam postponed there show until the storm passed and played well into the next morning, around 2am or so --- bet the neighborhood loved that. I talked to a few people at the next night's Phish show who were at the Pearl Jam show the previous night and/or earlier that morning and they all said it was a blast.
  7. I don't think I would ever want to deal with going to a concert at Wrigley -- but I bet this will be a fun two days. In this day and age, the ticket prices look great, too from the Chicago Tribune:
  8. That Fillmore set is the one to have - from a collector perspective (and perhaps a musical one, too, in my opinion) - it definitely fetches the most money in the aftermarket. I was lucky and grab it when it went on sale.
  9. I'll listen to it, too - what the hell. I had to pull out that 73 Winterland box-set out yesterday to prove to my 4 year old daughter that there is a button that read "Good Ol' Grateful Dead". I tend to listen to the 73 set more than the 77 one - but they are both great.
  10. Trying to keep the big money out of politics -- a little wealth equality would help, too. I do think his free college plan is a pipe dream -- if, somehow, he can get the cost of tuition down, I'd be all for that. I think he should start with that. His lack foreign affairs scares me a bit. I stilll go back and forth between him and Clinton. I do like Sanders' passion.
  11. Yeah - Bernie was all over this last night, Clinton still doesn't have a clear answer - expect that she thinks that all the money she receives doesn't affect her voting - whatever - it's impossible for anyone to receive thousands and thousands of dollars from a corporation and not be influenced - why else would a corporation give the money unless they want or hope for something in return. Fun debate last night ---- Sanders definitely has to brush up on his foreign policy.
  12. "Rocks Off" off of Exile springs to mind.
  13. We always found that Triple PasteĀ® worked well with our two kids.
  14. I always enjoyed the caucus process - up until this whole coin toss business. There's got to be another way -- perhaps they have to lock the doors until someone comes out a clear winner -- that's the point of a caucus -- persuasion, right? An outcome shouldn't come down to luck of a coin flip. Who gets to call the coin toss? If there is 5 delegates -- and the caucus comes out as a tie - can't each get 2 1/2, rather than 3 and 2? Tally up all the 1/2s' at the end of the overall State of Iowa results and you have a winner. I suppose it can still end up a tie - state wide, though. At this
  15. That's a crazy way to do things ---- can't they just call it a tie and move on?
  16. I thought it was funny as hell, too -- tuned in late - right when the two were in the cemetery and the English fellow started to tell his story -- that was a nice piece of writing.
  17. Yeah - just did a google search and I definitely remember her being on MTV -- guess I just never realized who were parents were.
  18. Didn't realize that he and Grace had kid together.
  19. Just finally gotten around to watch that Live at the Family Dog DVD from 1970 a couple of days ago --- after I watched it, my biggest take out of the film was Kanter's performance throughout it - his guitar playing and demeanor -- I though it was great.
  20. I have participated in Vines on the Hittin' - the whole old school idea is fine, I guess --- can't see why they can't do both, though. I am sure the Moogis part has a lot to do with it, too - I think that is pretty much dead, though. I know you can still buy shows through the ABB site or nugs - but again so does Gov't Mule, not sure if the Trucks' band sells their shows afterwards - and those sbd. shows would be banned on the legit torrents sites anyway. You can't 'Vine' soundboards that were officially purchased either on the Hittin' site.
  21. Below is Derek sitting in with Phish on 7/7/99 (less than a month after the ABB Deer Creek show) during the encore songs (Possum and Funky Bitch) - definitely wasn't tentative here. http://phish.in/1999-07-07 Found the below review of the show from a Phish board.
  22. Guessing it's either a Gregg or Butch (or I guess management) decision --- obviously Trucks and Haynes are fine with torrents.
  23. I saw Derek on his first summer tour with the Allman Brothers Band at Deer Creek - looking over at Hittin' the Web, I see it was his 6th show with the band -- I remember thinking that night he was very tentative in his playing, which makes sense, since he was very young and he's up there playing in the Allman Brothers Band -- after seeing him numerous times since, it's amazing (though I'm not surprised) how much he has evolved into one of the all time best. The other thing I remember was that there was a teenager, with a Slayer shirt on, sitting in front us with his hippie parents. The kid s
