That sucks.

While at the Iron Maiden concert earlier in the week, I overheard a lot of talk about the G N' R reunion - people were stoked. If you don't mind me asking - how did you get a ticket - did you just get lucky, when they went on sale?

Tempest is worth a listen, you might like it - it's all original material at the very least --- granted some of it might have been "borrowed". Maybe you meant to write Shadow In the Night - his first standards release.

I'll grab the new one -- I listened the latest one a few times - definitely don't reach for it much, but I am glad I have it when I want to. I do like the cover of Fallen Angels. (sorry for the big pic)

Yeah it is -- which was I was kinda afraid of when Sanders entered, though all the things, for the most part, that makes Clinton unqualifed (according to Sanders), the republicans would greatly support or wouldn't mind. (Though, I do realize that the republicans are going to use just the "I don't believe that she is qualified" sound bite and leave out everything else.)

Never tried the Grunion - I have seen it in the stores up here, though. Sox park is going to have decent selection this year and as per usual Anheuser-Busch has a strangle hold at Wrigley. https://blu174.mail.live.com/?tid=cm-x2SK-785RGVxgAeC8tyNg2&fid=flinbox

Did you make it all the way to the Atlantic? Looks like a great area.

I just read that Duff might be writing a bio on Alice in Chains. Never knew there was any connection - though I don't follow either band much. Did put some Alice in Chains on hold at my library, though.

Can't remember a time that both Chicago teams had a 9:05pm (Central Time) game start for opening day. I'll be lucky to catch the first pitch... Go White Sox!

Weir has always been my favorite - without him, I don't think the Dead wouldn't have been as popular - for better or worse. I think he has been the glue -- with Phil and Billy, of course. Garcia was definitely the leader -- I think the rest of the band would agree - but I think on stage they all sounded equal. I think Bobby hamming it up was a great benefit for the band -- plus he (and Barlow) are great song writers. Back in the day - Tweedy was talking about a band needing a center and him being that center (which always bugged me) - I don't think the Grateful Dead ever had a center, w

Saw it today -- it seem more blue-ish.

That was fun -- it was nice to listen to Ken. Obviously, Glenn is great - but Coomer was perfect, too.

Nice haul. While watching Notre Dame loose last night, I enjoyed the below on tap. Nice Stone addition.

Mayer (with a short cameo of Weir) was on the Tales from the Golden Road XM/Sirius show yesterday -- pretty great interview. He definitely has a passion for the music. a download of the show: http://talesfromthegoldenroad.com/

These typically have be fun at my local theater.

It's kinda interesting that the Dead released it (2/11/69), due to the somewhat sub-par performance, especially since Phil was listed as producer. I think I remember reading that Lesh nixed some Latvala's picks - due to what Phil thought was sub-par performances, while Dick thought a particular performance was great. I think Gans had some of the same moments with Lesh , too, when he was involved with some Dead releases. I never had much a problem with Lesh's Steal your Face release - but that may be because I had that tape since high school and it was one of my first tapes, bought Dead Set t

Day of the Dead-The National curated GD tribute album

Figures - now I can hear a bit of Dylan in that War on Drugs' Touch of Grey cover. -
That might be for the VIP tent thing - if you click on the price range, it reads the below. (assuming you are talking about the Wisconsin show)

Crap - I guess I should grab a couple more if they may be taken down - though they been up a for a while, now. Maybe the no soundboard decree was from Chris R. and nobody is listening to what he has to say anymore...

A lot of people say that War on Drugs (or at least the lead singer) sounds like Dylan - i still don't see it. Haven't heard their version of Touch of Grey. -
That's cool - I don't think I have that ---- been seeing a bunch of SBD's popping up over there, too. Downloaded the below, but haven' t listened to it, yet. Recommend any other of the recent uploads?

I agree. The Deadicated was a great release for this reason - many of the artist put their own 'brand' on it and made the tunes sound great in different way. Many faithful renditions of tunes seem to bore me, would rather have a band/artist completely deconstruct a tune and make it their own. -

$29.99 for the CD -- not bad. They updated their site - http://www.dayofthedeadmusic.com/ -
No, not at all - I didn't realize Alchemist stopped selling directly out of their brewery or at least I still figured one could make arrangements to do so -- but of course then I guess everyone can say, "I am flying in from such and such place can I grab a couple of cases". One of the these days I hope to make it up that way.
