  1. I saw Weir and Wasserman play in a shed too - think it was 92, with Michelle Shocked and others on the bill. The place (the horrible World Music Theater) was pretty empty. Great show, though. Just found the setlist.
  2. Went to Sox park last night with my kid and made it up to the kid's Fundamentals area before the game - my kid and nieces had a blast. Plus it was nice to see James Shields get a win, especially after he gave up a home run with his 2nd pitch of the game; of course the bullpen almost blew it for him in the 9th. Also my kid and I got a chance to get a picture with the 2005 World Series trophy and sit in Reinsdorf's suite and the press box. Fun day/night at the ball park.
  3. Didn't realize that Wasserman was ill, that's a bummer. Glad he was brought back to the Ratdog fold for a bit - seeing him and Robin Sylvester both play was great. A nice Rob/Bobby duo version of Victim in the below link. http://www.jambase.com/article/famed-bassist-rob-wasserman-1952-2016
  4. It's still on Dime, if you do torrents. Just do a search on %Bob Dylan% - thinks on the 2nd or 3rd page.
  5. Finally getting around to listening to the Fallen Angels release (checked it out from the library) -- musically is sounds great. Relying heavily on Herron's steel guitar, which is nice. Again, it standards, so it's not too exciting, but Dylan does sound engaged. Nicely produced, too. Curious to know if the did these sessions live or did Dylan overdub his vocals - I haven't read too much up on these sessions. Also downloaded some 85 sessions and rehearsals recently - nice to see some new 'old' stuff out their in the boot world. Listened to half of each release - it's alright.
  6. Watched the webcast of the 1st night at Wrigley last night -- they did an a cappella version of Space Oddity that was pretty cool.
  7. Scored two for Hall and Oates -- woo-hoo! It'll be something to do, I guess-- though the wife and I are fans, so it should be fun. Been trying to get Sabbath tickets but no luck so far, even though it is back on the list.
  8. Watching the ARMs boot tonight and it's a wonder that Page was able to write anything - man was he f'd up throughout this show. That was a great video, TP. thx.
  9. Never seen that before, either -- cool video. I am not saying Spirit has a case - many songs sound like a lot of other songs. I am just surprised that it took so long for the Stairway case to be brought to court. Perhaps nobody really pressed the matter until recently.
  10. Yeah, that's a fine argument, I guess. I haven't been following any of this -- I just know when I heard that Spirit tune - it was XM and I didn't realize it was the song in question - I automatically thought of Stairway to Heaven. The tune was already playing, when I turned the car on. The DJ mentioned it was the Spirit tune after it was over.
  11. I finally heard that Spirit song on the radio last month or so - definitely hear the comparison. Crazy that it took this long to get in the courts.
  12. 73 --- I enjoy the box quite a bit -- skipping on the latest release, though. Mostly because I don't want to spend the money on it. Music should be great, though.
  13. Yeah - I don't think there is any Chicagoland shows available any more. I think I saw the Sabbath show on the list yesterday and today it's gone. My wife is heading down to St. Louis to catch Def Leopard - for kicks.
  14. Yeah I got the re-release version -- he writes about the flood in the liner notes -- never realized that Herron was on any of the Crowes releases. Also saw the the below in a store window a couple of stores down - actually my wife spotted it first.
  15. Happen to walk by a record shop in Cheyenne, Wyoming and found Rich Robinson's Paper and The Ceaseless Sight releases in the used bin -- Ceasless is definitely better than Paper, but they are both are pretty decent upon one listen. Nice to see Donnie Herron in the Paper credits - must have been right around the time he joined Dylan's band - he does play a nice fiddle on one tune.
  16. Yeah - the whole thing seems a bit bogus. There is a Live Nation shed about 10 minutes from my house, that I haven't been to since 1998, perhaps a free ticket might get me to go to the Black Sabbath show in September - that is, if that show ends up on their list of shows... Between mine and my wife's accounts, we have plenty of 'free' vouchers.
  17. Saw the 1st Chicago show - good show. When I saw them at Lolla with Reeves, I thought he over played a bit - on Friday, I though he did not play enough or was too low in the mix. I was on Roger's side - so perhaps it was a mix issue. Roger sounded great in the mix - I always enjoy his contributions. Great mix of tunes.
  18. Left for a week and came back to my tomatoes really taking off -- thanks to my dad watering them...Besides that, a few peppers. Not much this year.
  19. Yeah - my brother and sis-in-law saw him at the Riviera (Chicago) last month and said the same exact thing --- he took a tumble at the the end of the show - fell backwards, flat on his back, but he was helped up right away and he seemed okay.
  20. Hate to quote myself - but the White Sox put Latos on assignment, yesterday. Hopefully the White Sox can turn it around or I will be whistling "I'll Remember April" the rest of the year - which wouldn't be the worse thing, I guess. Go White Sox!
  21. Excited for Friday's Chicago show --- it will be the start of the family's vacation; on Saturday we head for Colorado. I think the Friday show sold out very quickly and then they announced a Saturday show, which sold out quickly too. Haven't downloaded that Denver show - need to.
  22. Yeah, Eurotrash girl is a great one. He should have mentioned Todd Snider's `Talking Seattle Grunge-Rock Blues' --- "a whole album of hidden tracks", not that would have been completely alternative album.
