  1. Pulled 2 decent balcony tickets for Saturday. Happy with just one show this go around. As someone mentioned - it will be weird not standing in line this year. Not to mention, it will be a train ride for me this go around too, which is a good thing. That being all said, I do enjoy going to those Riv shows.
  2. Great stuff. (that Cy Young footage). That's some juxtaposition between that family footage and Kate's tweet.
  3. Maybe Wilco is touring with a stylist this tour. Next up a choreographer for the theater district' Chicago shows in February.
  4. The new one looks like it should be a good one or at least an interesting one. from Son Volt's Website:
  5. "its good to be here. It's good to be anywhere." Ha! - That's a Keith Richards' line. Keith has, at times, braids his hair, too. Next their exit music at shows is going to be You Can't Always Get What You Want... Thanks for reviews --- nice to hear yours and Wilco's perspective from overseas during the election aftermath.
  6. Just watched Ep. 2. Still good stuff. Reading the 66 Beatles book, now - perfect timing watching this episode, just finished the chapter about Lennon wanting to swing from the ceiling. Betty show info - it will be Ep. 8 (saving the best for last, I guess) http://liveforlivemusic.com/news/grateful-dead-betty-cantor-jackson-featured-upcoming-soundbreakers-episode/
  7. I am watching it on Roku PBS Channel on demand channel - it doesn't come on until 10pm in Chicago.
  8. Just watched the 1st episode - good stuff, thus far.
  9. I think one needs to actually vote to enter any discourse. Even a vote for a third or whatever party is a vote. I know about 3 people who voted for Johnson - I think that was his name. And all of them are from IL and all of them knew Johnson didn't have a chance, but they were hoping for him (or someone) to break that 5% point in total votes. To try to get a third party in the game.
  10. This afternoon, after work, I had a quick beer today at my local pub for the first time since the election - overheard two older guys talking next to me - they were talking about how they think Trump is the only one who can fix things and such....they then proceeded to say they both really liked Sanders and wish that he would have won the primary and believed that he would have beaten Trump (not sure I have the same opinion). These guys were both pushing 70s and were Bernie supporters, but I am gathering that they voted for Trump. Was going to ask them directly, perhaps I would have if I had a
  11. Yeah, I know he was out of job going into his silence on the board -- I am sure he just got sick/tiried of things on this board, though. Must admit, the beer thread has been pretty much dormant since his departure - which is a shame. He had the best beer suggestions/stories... Plus he is a huge Who fan.
  12. I was that show, too. (7.23.90) I have a dvd of it on my hard drive - it's decent enough. It was my 2nd show.
  13. Sounds low-fi -- of course I am listening to it on a shitty computer speaker. You are right, though - rocking.
  14. Finally gotten the reissue of Trace - the one with two discs. Nice show on the 2nd disc.
  15. Yeah - I think I read that Pono site is gone, so I guess it would make sense for him to go back to Spotify.
  16. Speaking of the 90 Europe tour, wasn't their rumors during that time that Brent wasn't going to make it there, due to legal problems. Perhaps I read it in a book. Hate bringing this type of stuff up, but it's bugging me. That Paris show is a good one. After one listen, Dave's Pick 20 is okay - nothing earth shattering. I have been listening and enjoying 79 lately - thanks to mountain bed bringing it up.
  17. We are on the same page, too -- she's just pissed - god love her. Electoral college isn't going anywhere. Woody Gutherie's Pretty Boy Floyd just came on dylanradio.com. Yes, as through this world I've wandered I've seen lots of funny men; Some will rob you with a six-gun, And some with a fountain pen.
  18. Yeah - the wife and I had a tiff last night -- she asked what did I (as a white male) loose out on two nights ago -- I started to list the reasons, then I stopped. She is still torn and frayed and bag of nerves.
  19. My wife just told me that a friend of ours posted on his FB feed: 'what we need is a rain delay'. Sounds about right.
  20. I was outside my polling place when it opened -- a worker came out and declared loudly three times - 'This Polling Place is now open' -- it was like I was back in 1775 and Paul Revere was riding through my village...
  21. Bob Whitaker took the cover shot - so far I haven't came up with session or year. Looks like he shot them from 64-66. Actually it looks like it was taken from this session: Bob Whitaker: The Beatles at Sheriff Rd Studios, 1965
  22. Ha! Was listening to this as I came into this thread -- nice piece.
  23. I am casual fan at best - but I saw the below on my library shelf - the author goes from month to month, starting in Dec. '65. I am only up to March and thus far it's pretty good. It seems that LSD definitely opened up the Beatles' heads. I like the idea of just focusing on one year. Wouldn't mind a book on the '66 Stones.
