  1. Yeah - I think I read that Pono site is gone, so I guess it would make sense for him to go back to Spotify.
  2. Speaking of the 90 Europe tour, wasn't their rumors during that time that Brent wasn't going to make it there, due to legal problems. Perhaps I read it in a book. Hate bringing this type of stuff up, but it's bugging me. That Paris show is a good one. After one listen, Dave's Pick 20 is okay - nothing earth shattering. I have been listening and enjoying 79 lately - thanks to mountain bed bringing it up.
  3. We are on the same page, too -- she's just pissed - god love her. Electoral college isn't going anywhere. Woody Gutherie's Pretty Boy Floyd just came on dylanradio.com. Yes, as through this world I've wandered I've seen lots of funny men; Some will rob you with a six-gun, And some with a fountain pen.
  4. Yeah - the wife and I had a tiff last night -- she asked what did I (as a white male) loose out on two nights ago -- I started to list the reasons, then I stopped. She is still torn and frayed and bag of nerves.
  5. My wife just told me that a friend of ours posted on his FB feed: 'what we need is a rain delay'. Sounds about right.
  6. I was outside my polling place when it opened -- a worker came out and declared loudly three times - 'This Polling Place is now open' -- it was like I was back in 1775 and Paul Revere was riding through my village...
  7. Bob Whitaker took the cover shot - so far I haven't came up with session or year. Looks like he shot them from 64-66. Actually it looks like it was taken from this session: Bob Whitaker: The Beatles at Sheriff Rd Studios, 1965
  8. Ha! Was listening to this as I came into this thread -- nice piece.
  9. I am casual fan at best - but I saw the below on my library shelf - the author goes from month to month, starting in Dec. '65. I am only up to March and thus far it's pretty good. It seems that LSD definitely opened up the Beatles' heads. I like the idea of just focusing on one year. Wouldn't mind a book on the '66 Stones.
  10. ^ That's a classic - thank god Les Grobstein had his recorder.
  11. Yeah luckily my wife gets off at Hyde Park - Metra is expecting their busiest day in their history. About 10 of my relatives/friends headed down there via Metra in the early a.m.
  12. Glad that story line is finally dead. It was a great series --- my mom and dad came over last night to watch the game. It was great watching it with them. My dad is 77 and long time South-side Cub fan - happy for him to finally see them win it all. When Cleveland tied it in the 8th, he told my mom, 'Come on let's go, we can listen to it on the radio'. Luckily it's was only a 15 minute drive home for them, so they made it home to see the win.
  13. Buckner's error still may still take the cake. That error was pretty bad, though. It seemed to take all wind out of the Indian's sails.
  14. Buck and Smoltz have been tolerable up until Chapman was brought into last night's game.
  15. Should be a good one -- I think Maddon blew all of Fox announcers' mind when he brought Chapman in - (to a point of annoyance). Must admit when Chapman covered 1st and came down hard on the base - my stomach sank....
  16. Have been listening to Dicks Pick Vol. 13 (5/6/81) today - not the best sounding release, but Disc 1 it is great while going for a drive. The Scar/Fire from 11/1/79 filler on disc two is superb. Next up is the Road Trips Vol. 1 - Fall '79.
  17. I thought he did an okay job, though. Too bad the Cub's bats didn't. Since the playoffs started, It seems like it's all or nothing for the Cubs. And since I mentioned it, my friend was able to unload all four Peter Hook tickets -- at face value, too. Glad not everyone are wimps like us who don't want to deal with crowds... Should be fun tonight - a neighbor is setting up a screen in his back yard to watch the game, taking advantage of the nice weather. He is actually getting a keg - haven't been to a kegger in years....
  18. Probably Dick's Picks, Vol. 5, 1996 : Oakland, 12/26/79. Looking forward to the new Dave's Pick. Something different - 81 is another year I don't listen to all that much.
  19. I think he will be a pitch hitter, too - at least for tomorrow. We'll see what happens if they don't win tomorrow, though, about Game 4 and 5. I think it's too risky putting him in the field for Game 3, since they really don't need to. Would be cool to see him get another 4 or so at bats, though tomorrow night, in Wrigley.
  20. Yeah -- with all the rain yesterday, I am sure the field is going to be still a bit soggy, tomorrow night. Will be interesting to see if he gets the start in Left.
  21. Couldn't watch the above link, due to 'country's restrictions.' Look forward to it. But I did watch the below 2002 Jools Holland performance - John kicks some butt on this track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGF-5sjGaF4
