  1. Any idea why so many shows were shot at the Cap in Passaic -- was there a video screen in the actual theater?
  2. Just heard Mickey's Rolling Thunder version of 'Playin in the Band' or Main Ten on XM---- don't think I every heard it before. Pretty cool version. Didn't realize Rolling Thunder was Spotify.
  3. Last week I was telling my 7 year old about the giant mall arcades of the early/mid 80s. Just watched clip of the game on youtube - I don't remember that one.
  4. I don't why they have to nominate or do any of this stuff -- the museum itself is cool. There is stuff there from bands (Wilco for one) who have never been inducted - not sure why they need to have any induction process. Just have the museum and be done with it. Of course they get the publicity with thee nomination process, etc. Also, I never got into the whole Sex Pistol bit, either. They were definitely great opportunist, though.
  5. ELO - ugh. Would rather have Journey make it in.
  6. Mr. Robot really picked up steam midway through the 2nd season. Saving the Wire for next year. We watched the 1st episode The Man in the High Castle last night - it was a nice start.
  7. Saw the first 45 minutes of Rogue One and had to bail -- it was too much for my 7 year old. I think one of the characters was really freaking him out. The Force Awakens didn't faze him when we saw it in the theaters. Though, from what I saw of Rogue One, it definitely was 'darker' than the Force Awakens. It was cool, though, from what I saw.
  8. The Dreams on that 12/15/96 show sounded great --- this taper seems like an interesting person. The piano throughout Torn and Frayed is very nice, too.
  9. Wishing you the best. Downloading now.
  10. Oh, I was kidding. We have been going there on a yearly basis until we started having kids -- we figured at age 6 and 4 they are now finally old enough to fend for themselves against all the forces of nature.
  11. Finally made our 1st family trip to Colorado in June - kid's were troopers while camping and hiking. Almost made it to a top of mountain (Lily Mountain Trail), but the 4 year petered out with a 1/4 mile to go or so. It was a blast of a hike, though. Thinking of camping/hiking out east next year, but no plans set.
  12. Looks good - downloaded about 4 other ones, haven't had a chance to listened to any of them, yet. Did listen to Set 1 of 1995-05-17 Los Angeles, CA ('Amoricans') last night.
  13. I listened to it once via Spotify - it's okay.
  14. I am hoping for no openers - but i did enjoy the way they did it last time - it was a good idea.
  15. That 66 book (above) is definitely a worth while book - the parts on the last tour were pretty detailed.
  16. They sure nailed the Jack Straw. Still haven't seen these guys, yet. Hopefully they pass through Chicago again at some point. I am not sure how they draw here, they always play a venue (Concord Music Hall) that is not that great and where security has rep. for being tough. I know their venue choice is the reason why I haven't seen them yet -- for the sound reasons, on my part - at this point in my life I don't care about security and such, but I know some do. That being all said, my wife saw the Violent Femmes at the Concord this past summer and she said it sounded fine.
  17. My favorite is probably "Love in Vain" - the Stones' version off of Ya-Ya's. Of course the lryics are from Robert Johnson - the last verse is one of his best. Jagger sings it great.
  18. Yeah, my seven old year is getting there -- it's was about 50/50 by the end of last summer.
  19. Did end up buying tickets to the Sat. Wrigley show. Last show of the tour - should be interesting. Still, would definitely rather hang out in a lot, than Wrigleyville. I think it will be hard to play Frisbee on Clark and Addison. Just need to make sure we are back downtown by 12:50am to get the last train out and we will be good to go.
  20. Listened to Songs for Drella this morning - I think for the first time, at least I don't remember listening to it before. Really great record.
  21. Nice speech. Guess one can say he heard all those critical of him getting the award - Shakespeare and Dylan are now both in the alley. http://www.relix.com/blogs/detail/read_bob_dylans_gracious_nobel_prize_acceptance_speech_in_full
  22. I was at that Red Rocks show - cold night. I saw the same bill in St. Louis in 1999 - I thought the 99 show was better. Stipe and obviously Tweedy both have a Southern IL connection and they both played with a bit of chip on their shoulders, that night.
  23. Were you peeing in the woman's bathroom sink, again???
