That crazy cosmic boy Tom Cruise wittering earnestly on for ten minutes about the greatness of Scientology, and making himself look a mite possessed, possibly needing to be heavily sedated. Not seen it? Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft....Uncle L. Ron wants you!

When I was younger upto about the age of 10 I used to get this all the time. Nowadays, it's only usually outside, and in cold weather you really have to have a firm grasp on direction to save yourself getting soggy shoes. Also, be careful when pee'ing, and shivering, next to a stranger, Ghostbusters warned us not to cross the streamers. Pee'ing outside in England is all too frequent, particularly on the high street after a drinking session. It's pretty much common law to get c*ck out at any opportunity.

Not right now, I'm at work, it's gross misconduct and therefore a sacking offence, but over the weekend it was mainly these two drinks:

I got this in my ears. And will have all day.

Throughout today I will be playing a mixture of: That is all. If you've any questions, please ask.

Visually it's been cleaned up as has the soundtrack - the previous DVD version was shocking - now it looks all crystalline and, basically the way it should. Other than that there's various bits that have been re-shot - the Zhora glittery lady death scene has been redone to get around the fact that previously it looked like a bricklayer in lady's wig that went crashing through the glass. Loads of dialogue has been subtly altered. A bit more violence added. Oh and crucially, SPOILER ALERT......

Freaks and Geeks, and Undeclared now ordered. Thanks guys! I'll be dabbling with Pushing Daisies and probably Heroes in good time too. Now, or rather last night, watching:

Oh my Lord! A quick wikipedia scan has revealed that Anna Friel stars in it. She's British, in fact she started in a Liverpool-based (Liverpudlian) soap opera called Brookside, and was responsible for a huge crush I had on her during college. Wisely, I think the Brookside scriptwriters made her a lesbian (true) and a murderess of her father (true) in a bid to put me off her. It didn't work. And, in the case of the former character trait, actually made matters worse for teenage m_thomp.

If you like that, and you like Napoleon Dynamite, then check out this (unless you already have): Jemaine from Conchords is in it, as you can see from the cover. And it's the same kinda loser comedy as Napoleon, only with zero redeeming qualities for the New Zealand ND equivalant (Jemaine's character).

The fools. That's dashed my hopes of someday seeing a Gob magical extravaganza in Vegas [cues up Final Countdown] Have been meaning to watch it, but they often put it on at some un-Godly hour here. I do intend to catch it one day. They do a similar scheduling thing with Entourage, which I have caught a couple of times, and quite enjoyed, even if it did start to resemble an alpha-male version of Sex In The City after a while. I used to really like Lost, then I just lost (ho ho!) tolerance with it at Season 3 - it felt like the writers were just making it up as they went, and str

I got to the end of Arrested Development and felt a bit empty really as there was nothing, or nothing I was aware of, good enough to replace it. What was the deal with its cancellation? I can't believe there weren't enough people watching it at the end (I'm in England y'see)? Sure it's a bit farcical, like a theatre farce, but what's not to like about that? Anyway, a bit more digging brought up both Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared as potential replacements (both, again, cancelled - I see a pattern emerging). So hopefully they can return me to the old comedy highs, albeit temporary. Are t

What's that like? I've just finished this: and was looking at Undeclared, or Freaks and Geeks, to fill the void. In fact if you know what Freaks & Geeks is like, tell me about that too.

I've just voted, and I voted for HD DVD. I have seen neither format in operation. But my brain works like this, "I just want a winner in the battle, and the sooner it happens the sooner I can buy future DVDs in comfort, without worrying that I've pissed a lot of money up the wall on the wrong discs and the wrong hardware." Like I said I just want a clear winner, and a winner that will let me play my existing normal DVDs on it - I'm more than happy with picture and sound of normal DVDs. The reason for voting for HD DVD is based on the fact that, here in Europe, the HD DVDs are currently o

I'm a big fan. There's not a lot to dislike about this it contains fantastic melodies and captivating rhythms. Crucially, though, there's a mastery of the sampler, sequencer and recording/mixing desk to create its washed out, transient qualities. He creates the same musical environments within a song that you'd expect from King Tubby or The Orb where the incidentals and the accidents become the key notes. I also don't subscribe to this structureless concept? Surely music based around looped samples has to have a structure?

Hopefully my attempt at the divoid thing hasn't screwed. It might be below, if so here's my mix for El Picador, which he has received: If not, here's the link to the zip file for the rest: Some of my 2007 favourites Gadzooks! Track 3 didn't stream, so I've re uploaded it, which will throw the whole thing out of sync. But you're sensible folk so just play the thing in numbered order. Roll VT and Take 2... -

I'm in. Now deal me the cards... -
The absence of Person Pitch is comical. Unless, of course, it's in at -1 (that's minus 1). I'd congratulate both Panda Bear for his achievement and Paste for their tecnological advancement in field of Top Tenology if this was the case.

Dvaid Holmes does that trick on the album Bow Down To The Exit Sign too.

Chicago's Thrill Jockey 15th Anniversary Party
m_thomp replied to Wendy's topic in Someone Else's Song
Yep, Eli's Cheesecake, who I believe are quite famous in Chicago for such things, shipped over loads of their goods for the event. And very nice it was too.
