Yes, Swine Flu was only meant to distract you until Wilco (The Album) leaked.

I tabbed this out over in the tab section of the board. I used a solo acoustic version so hopefully the tab is consistent with the album: Solitaire Once I thought the world was crazy Everyone was sad and chasing Happiness and love and I was the only one above it Once I thought without a doubt I had it all figured out The universe with hands unseen I was cold as gasoline It took too long to see that I was wrong to believe in me only Once my life was a game so unfair It beat me down and kept me there Unaware of my naysaying Solitaire was all that I was playing It took too long to

I hate NYC. I won't live anywhere else. -
SirS - I need more from you than this. You really aren't digging the album?
-
I agree with you. I misinterpreted your comments/joke. I'd be interested in hearing what you don't like about the album. Let's talk about the music instead of each other. I'll go first -- how confidently can you judge the production on an album that you've heard either through downloaded mp3s or streaming over the internet?
-
It wasn't a reference to the joke. It was a reference to the fact that it sounds like you don't like the record. And that's cool. But then why not listen to something you like and post about that (I seem to remember you are a big AC fan)? Either way, alls good. Baboons, camels, bulldogs.

I am picturing you listening to Animal Collective instead of posting silly comments in a thread about an album that people seem to be enjoying.
-
I posted this in the wrong thread: You Never Know is what you'd get if Everday People by Sly and the Family Stone married My Sweet Lord and Wilco played the wedding. I am so happy.

Are people really listening to things other than Wilco (The Album)?

W(TA) (thanks again, Hollinger.)

As I search the internets and send out emails looking for a link to the leak, I have to say that I am a bit bummed that we aren't all listening to it streaming from WilcoWorld, like we did for SBS. That was one great night of fandom and love. The sun is shining, I went for a run this morning, and a new Wilco album leaked. Today is starting out smashingly.

Well look at what I woke up to...
-
If we happen to bump into each other on the street, chances are pretty good that I will be wearing headphones. And I've got dark rimmed glasses. And Elvis is King, so there's that.

MMJ certainly rocks, but MMJ doesn't/hasn't/can't write a perfect pop song. Which isn't to say that one is better than the other. The Shins certainly don't rock. But there's nothing about the first two Shins albums that leaves me wanting. As someone said above, Saint Simon is just about perfect. So is Pink Bullets, etc. And I hate to say this, because I hate to sound like a judgmental prick, but when i saw the Shins live a couple of times and then heard the 3rd album, it occurred to me that the band had peaked with this lineup, and that Mercer was being held back by the other guys in th

I am not even going to Bonnaroo and this bums me out.

SpeedRacer, if you are buying vinyl that skips the way you describe you should return it. Even if it's $5. I have always been happy with my $5 vinyl. It is very possible that places are just re-selling vinyl that they bought in bulk and havent listened to it. I'd bet if you brought it back to where you bought it, they'd take it back. I dont think stores mark their vinyl down because it skips to the point that it is unlistenable. Vinyl like that shouldn't be sold for any amt of money.

Baby steps, people. Baby steps. Today 8 square feet. Tomorrow the whole fucking industry!!

There's no way I am the only one that laughed at this. (Right?)
-
All true, but you would have said the same thing last week in a thread about vinyl. In other words, before Best Buy announced that they would start carrying vinyl.
-
the barnes and noble near my office in midtown has a small vinyl section. It's really weird. It's all reissued classics on vinyl (ie, nothing new). Pet Sounds, Bitches Brew, Tonight's the Night, etc.

Standard tuning is on the left, and the tunings you are asking about are on the right. In each case, tune down from standard tuning to the notes indicated. Drop D (only one change): E > D A > A D > D G > G B > B E > E Open D: E > D A > A D > D G > F# B > A E > D

Awesome story, watchtower41. I laughed out loud at the above quote. Can't even imagine walking out to my car and seeing a huge camel in an alley. Priceless.

Haha, I don't know. I am making this up as I go. You are the camel. You walk around with music stored in your head. You carry it with you. How's that?
