  1. The music is the party. And they aren't there while you are listening to it.
  2. Ok, I figured it out. It's not me.
  3. Getting ready. NP: kickng television.
  4. Either I am losing my mind or everyone else is. I will let you know when I figure it out.
  5. Keep the music in you through the tough times. It will help to sustain you. Like SpeedRacer said. Love it.
  6. I think Bob Dylan is having some fun with Paul McCartney, the writer, and anyone who believes this story.
  7. i had posted this in the Now Watching on Youtube thread, but it deserves to be posted again here: Britt Daniel, backstage, Black Like Me
  8. I have a soft spot for Jonathon Fisk. I know it's not groundbreaking. That's ok by me. Sister Jack too.
  9. VC's MattZ is reporting that Manny Ramirez will serve a 50 game suspension for a positive drug test. More details below. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-manny-...0,6324894.story
  10. two fat ladies window shop something for the mantelpiece Yeah, it's Tillbrook. Pulling Mussels, Another Nail, etc. Perfect guitar solos. And I agree with you.
  11. PopTodd, I fully believe that there is nothing to critique about subjective taste, but are you sure you mean chris difford? I mean, you aren't going to find a bigger Squeeze fan than me, but Chris Difford is neither a particularly good guitar player, nor does he really do anything on guitar other than provide backing rhythm guitar. Now, playing rhythm guitar on any tune penned by Glenn Tilbrook is no easy feat (the guy squeezes more f*cking chords into a song (no pun intended)), but are you sure you don't mean Tilbrook? Tilbrook wrote the music to all those tunes, and was the guy that carri
  12. Complaints do not present a full picture because (1) they are one-sided, and (2) they intentionally present facts in the best possible light for the plaintiff (e.g., "THE" producer instead of "A" producer). Without knowing what the contract actually says, and without knowing what sort of performance can be implied from prior actions, and without knowing how the contract could be amended or terminated, everyone is speculating. And they are speculating on marginally more information than they had before they saw the complaint. I know this won't stop another 6 pages of speculation, but no on
  13. Nice. The first good post in this thread. Thanks Buford T. Justice. Makes sense.
  14. There's no way for me to know what the heck happened or why they couldn't agree to put this matter behind them privately, but I am sad to see that it has come to this. I say that without any knowledge of whether Jeff/Wilco are right or Jay is right. My guess is that, like most things in life, they are both a little right and both a little wrong. In the grand scheme of lawsuits and headaches, $50,000 is not that much money. So this may be about principle. But I am going to avoid speculating.
  15. Yeah, that's sort of what I was getting at. How many people will be hearing these albums for the first time on reissued vinyl? Will 98% of the people buying these already have the CDs? 99%? 99.9%? Although I think I heard rumors that the CDs would have bonus tracks somewhere around here awhile back (?). Don't get me wrong. I will be very happy to have these on vinyl. Just seems like an odd pricing/packaging deal.
  16. $24, huh? I guess beggars can't be choosers, but dang, that's not cheap.
  17. Me too. (btw, great signature ginandcigarettes.)
  18. me too. Still chokes me up.
  19. JS, clearly Souter isn't "as liberal" as someone like a Ginsburg, but this court has been split into a liberal and conservative bloc for a long time. And Souter has been a reliable vote in the liberal bloc almost without fail. Whether that makes him a radical liberal or moderate liberal is beside the point, isn't it? His voting record speaks for itself. Doesn't it?
  20. Yeah, JS, I am on the left, and I would disagree with you. It's not just folks on the right. Souter has been a reliable vote in the liberal bloc on this court. Rarely, if ever, has he been a swing vote.
  21. If you need tips on how to manage your anxiety about swine flu (not how to manage your swine flu): http://www.apahelpcenter.org/articles/article.php?id=194
  22. Cool guitar. (Really just fulfilling my contractual obligation to post in every thread with an Elvis Costello reference. Carry on.)
  23. The Goonies is the only movie that I have ever watched two straight times in the theater. Just didnt get out of my seat. Thanks Mom.
