Me too, but it is making my search for a J-45 very difficult. If the only place that I can buy one is at Sam Ash or Guitar Center, then I need to decide if that's a hurdle I am willing/able to get over. It's honestly one reason (Jeff Tweedy's ridiculous guitar obsession being the main culprit) that I've been looking at vintage J45s.

You know, it will be much harder to avoid everyone's opinions about it, than it will be to avoid the leak. I may have to stay away from these parts for awhile if I want to listen to all the new music coming out with both fresh ears and a fresh head.

Wasn't sure where best to put this, but since it addresses Gibson quality and its bizarre position re independent stores, I put it here. A real shame. ------- http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/6d8616ae-3b71-11df-b622-00144feabdc0.html Gibson Guitar CEO picks fight with lenders after alienating retailers and employees By Kate Laughlin The complicated calculus of US manufacturing today often forces executives to alienate labor at the behest of investors and retailers, retailers at the behest of investors and labor, or investors at the behest of labor and retailers. I will do it, if you do it.

Hi everyone - I just posted this in the RSD thread in SES if anyone is interested. Of course, this plan may end up backfiring on me since it looks like there are plenty floating around in the Wilco store. Anyway, I meant well! ... I decided to pick up a second Wilco box. Why? Well, I figured that someone here would get shut out, or would only have a local store that didn't get it. Also, I knew that scumbags would be posting the box on ebay for $150, and I'd get the satisfaction of seeing my copy go to someone for the proper price and let those tools eat their loss. Or, one of them, at leas

Hey all- I got in line early at Kim's in NYC and got the Wilco box, SY, Deerhoof, Elvis, and Pavement. As I was standing there, I decided to pick up a second Wilco box. Why? Well, I figured that someone here would get shut out, or would only have a local store that didn't get it. Also, I knew that scumbags would be posting the box on ebay for $150, and I'd get the satisfaction of seeing my copy go to someone for the proper price and let those tools eat their loss. Or, one of them, at least. Anyway, long story short, if you are looking for a sealed, brand-new Wilco KT box of LPs, from Re

cool, thanks! I dont think this will help my problem of rationalizing unnecessary guitar purchases.

sounds like a badass calendar. Where does a guy like me find something like that?

8. everyone at VC agrees with me so I can't be wrong! -
Man, I need help. I am too good at rationalizing: 1. they will go UP in value! It's like an investment! 2. it will be in the family for generations! my son will love it! 3. I will sell one of my other guitars! (maybe!) 4. I dont spend my money on anything else! 5. There's a 7 day trial period! If I don't love it, I will send it back! 6. Guitars make me so happy! 7. I can't get the TONE I am looking for with my current crop! Damn, the LAST thing I need is another guitar. Then why am I spending so much time looking at J45s from the 50s? 0-18s? Hummingbirds? Why am I "watching" ebay a

Never!! I miss you, PigSooie. I miss us. (Yes, that's exactly what I was looking for).

They do the same thing here with the Mets. Sucks. That Tuesday after opening day is one the toughest days. I dread it every year.

After 6 hrs of Wilco over the weekend in NJ (not counting hrs spent waiting in line), I was really thinking to myself that it's time for a wee bit of a break from the fellas. This certainly complicates things. Also, I am going to be the guy who wonders when Loose Fur gets added as a side-project performing. Yes, I am that guy.

what websites do folks use for rotisserie/fantasy baseball type info? I have always used whatever I can get from free sites like espn, cbssportsline, mlb.com, etc. Are any of the sites with paid premium content worthwhile? I see that ESPN insider is almost $50 a year. Which would be bad enough, but they also force you to subscribe to their awful print magazine. And they'd have to pay ME to do that.

I dont think that I've ever played a Blueridge guitar. Hey, if it sounds good to you, that's all that really matters, right? Post some pics. I like to live vicariously through other guitar purchases!

In Montclair on Sat night someone threw something at Jeff between songs and it hit him and his guitar -- the one that I think we all think is the 0-18. I had been drooling over the guitar the entire night to that point. I literally winced as it hit the guitar because I didn't know what it was. Turns out it was just some TShirt with a NJ logo on it, and Jeff was good natured about it. It actually made a thud when it hit the guitar but it must have been because it jostled the pickup or something. I guess a tshirt really can't do any damage. But for a split second it actually freaked me out

I didn't know where else to put this, but I think Jeff whipped out an 00-18E in Montclair. It was during the acoustic set, and I think it was for Dreamer in My Dreams. It was definitely a Martin, and it definitely had some crazy gold knobs like this, and since I know Jeff tends to prefer mahogany, this is my guess (the one on the left):

In The Street was flat-out religious. They absolutely destroyed it. Alex would've been proud. Thanks, John.
