  1. That's awesome -- what an accomplishment in this day and age! You should definitely celebrate (with Doans Pills and Milk of Magnesia ). We have about 8 years left on our 15 year mortgage, though the home equity loans have a slightly longer shelf life
  2. Hey... we all know who's playing the Inaugural Ball, and it ain't Bob Dylan
  3. BTW -- I rescued the Neosporin from the garbage.
  4. We've missed you UW. Don't be a stranger.
  5. Yeah, I started making this poll more complex, but then my interest expired....
  6. Apparently. See, if I hadn't read the back of the tube, I never would have known.
  7. Well? I'm curious as to how others handle these things. I threw out a tube of Neosporin yesterday because it expired about a year ago -- later on I thought I was succumbing to marketing. I did use it though before I threw it out and I'm not dead yet.
  8. Obama ran a very disciplined campaign -- created a viable plan, raised a boatload of dough, and stuck to the plan, even with a few bumps on the way. I think that this bodes very well for his ability to govern thoughtfully and reasonably.
  9. :bonghit Did you see his speech last night? Lame-O.
  10. Economics will solve the oil issue. Reduced demand = increased supply = lower prices From auto news: - Sales of basic compact cars from Jan to Apr (before the REALLY high gas prices) rose 37%, compared to full SUVs dropping 27% - Last month 4 cyl vehicles were 46% of all US retail sales -- up from 36% in Feb 08 and 28% in May 04 - One of 10 dealers isn't accepting big SUVs and pickups as trade-ins (get rid of yours while you can) - Yesterday GM began to contemplate what would have pretty unthinkable even a year ago -- killing HUMMER, while calling high oil prices the new reality Also I
  11. In a similar vein -- when I said that due to his injuries while a POW, John McCain can't raise his arms above his head, my husband said "That's why he said he'll never surrender". I LOLed.
  12. Ha Kyle -- I was wondering if you'd go. I am really happy you got to be there. Better or worse than 3-3-07?
  13. The Sat night version from the Residency was much better. They were just plain tuckered out after the Drone on Wed
  14. Hillary is a major-league piece of work. Talk about a narcissist -- all she did was talk about how SHE had done thus and such. Worse, she could not give him more than 15 seconds of her speech. She had a chance to look magnanimous and gracious, and she blew it. She is acting like a sore loser -- not a good example for all of you kids out there. BTW -- I went on to her site and "voted" for her to drop out.
  15. I agree with point two -- using McCain's age as an attack will not be effective and is playing a bad game. However, on point one, I think that you could say that any person's race affects decisions -- as does their sex, sexuality etc -- because of their experiences as X type of person. So in other words, our country has always been run by someone with the vantage point of being white, straight, and male. .
  16. Jesus. Could this be the end finally, or a call to further battle.... fingers crossed for the former (and I have my $$ on it)
  17. This would be true except for Kicking Television -- which is pretty punky. I guess you could argue that it's not on a "regular" release and therefore not eligible.
  18. This, along with PKB, started the revolution which culminated in the Residency shows, IMHO.
  19. I for one appreciate what you do here, including keeping count of the present/not present torrents.
  20. I think, Ickes/Clinton threat to take this to the credentials committee notwithstanding, that this ended up going well today. The unanimous vote on FL and the greater than 2/3 vote on MI will finally put this to rest and sets the stage for a mostly unified party. Obama should be the defacto nominee by this time Wed. Hillary can keep on pushing and risk the scorched earth label that will likely kill any future political future, or accept her loss and work to get Obama elected (and get her name firmly into the hat for the VP position). I am sincerely hoping she chooses the latter.
  21. This and the Friday show have not yet been posted, correct? At least not on dime or etree that I found. I do have Sat.
  22. This can't really be happening But I am glad for you Peter -- higher education isn't always about the pot And selfishly, I know this means that even better writing and artwork will be heading our way, so we have that going for us
  23. OK, this is getting very unfunny. I was in Bismarck ND in April. Wilco was in Fargo less than 1 week later Wilco was in Missoula in May. I will be there in July. Wilco will be in Salt Lake in Aug. I will be in Park City in early Sept. Wilco will be in CHICAGO (and Indy) in Aug. I will be in Missoula. And now Jackson Hole.....so I still have no Wilco in my future
